You knew where you had to go to find your artefact. Home. And no- not the apartment- Neibolt. The dark building stood there, almost mocking you. How you hated this place. You opened the creaky, spiked gate and walked up the filthy pathway. You pushed the rough door open, creaks echoing through the building. Shivers trickled down your spine.
"Dad?" You yelled, your voice flowing through the place. No response. Your eyes turned orange as you sensed around the building- no sign of your dad being there. Your eyes returned to their usual E/C colour. Where was he? What if he was out hurting them? You turned, heading back to the door when you heard chiming in a room upstairs. You slowly stepped up the creaking stair case, avoiding the broken step with a chipped hole in it.
You glanced down the corridor and saw an open door at the end. You skeptically stepped towards it, the chimes getting louder. You pressed your hand up to the open door, looking around for any sign of your father. Looking into the room, you saw your cot. This was the same room you came in the first time you came to Neibolt with the Losers. Eddie's arm. "Monster." You closed your eyes and shook your head. You looked into the cot to see your lone rattle, sat in the centre of it. You reached you hand out for it, taking its surprisingly soft handle into the palm of your hand. You observed each little curve of the rattle and it's large F/C head. You sighed, admiring the etchings along the side of your cot. You saw the same three circles- the dead lights- etched into the edge of the cot. You inhaled sharply.
You shook your head again and turned to the door, placing the rattle in your back pocket."Come home Y/N." The voice of a child whispered. You turned quickly back towards the cot to see a young girl, stood, hand on the edge of the cot. She smiled at you. She had E/C eyes and short H/C in pigtails. She wore a white dress with red Pom Poms down the middle. The air was knocked out of your lungs- it was you. Tears threatened to fall from your eyes as you ran out of the building. You didn't look back and kept running.
