Grae walked back into the kitchen, where Hayden now stood, wearing the apron the Grae had worm just a few minutes ago. He smiled at the green eyed boy.
"Watcha doin there Mr chef?"
Hayden looked down at his work surface with a tough, hardened expression at the onion he'd just cleaned. Grae didn't let that single 'manly' tear escape his vision.
He released a light chuckle and walked back around the kitchen counter and stood beside him.
"Hayden" he called. "There's this trick my mum used to teach me about cutting an onion. It will guarantee you a tearless face"
"There's a method to cutting onions?" Hayden asked, astonished at the fact that there was infact a method to the so called madness of cutting the god damned onion.
"Is there a method to cutting onions?", Grae mocked dumbly, not long after smacking the back of Hayden's head with the face of his palm
" no duh hey, there's a method to everything,! "
"Okay so what's the method to cutting onions without feeling the need to cut your eyes up instead?" Hayden asked.
"Simple" Grae stated, turning the onion root side up.
"When cutting an onion, always make sure to slice from the root side up." He instructed.
"Are you sure this works?" Hayden asked skeptically.
"Do you see my eye make up smudging?" He sarcastically replied to which Hayden just shrugged.
Hayden focused on the onion once more, more concentrated than ever. He hovered the knife over the onion, calculating the precise angle at which he was-
"JUST CUT THE DAMN THING ALREADY!" Grae shouted into Hayden's ear, making him jolt in surprise and causing the knife to pierce down the middle of the onion.
"GRAE GOOD GOD! WHAT IF THE KNIFE LANDED SOMEWHERE ELSE?!?"
"Thats one baby making machine less from over populating the world. It would've been a good loss" Grae nonchalantly stated.
Hayden glared at the smiling Grae.
" you are one twisted mother fucker"
"Thanks"

Zachary arrived at graes house with a bottle of red wine, just as he always brought along on Sunday lunches. He gathered his items and got out of the car, Leo following on short leash.
They arrived at the front door, where normally Zachary would just let himself in. This time, he composed himself and decided to knock , putting on the blankest face anyone could ever imagine.
Sternly, he knocked on the door three times, just as he always does at other peoples houses.
They waited patiently by the door until Zachary's ears perked up at the sound of graes loud, annoying yet adorable laugh. That alone made his heart flutter- but only for a second because once he opened the door, what he saw made his heart sink to the bottom of his chest
A red, flustered Grae.
"Come inside!" Gear invited cheerfully.
"Leo, Alice is upstairs baby why don't you join her mmhmm?"
