3 days ago. Saturday

The sun was out, the dogs were peaceful and the neighbors were all hangover. Zachary and Grae were in the graes lapa having a drink like they always do on a Saturday morning, just to catch up on the week. What was different though is that Zachary had finished a whole bottle of vodka and gin which was abnormal. This made Grae a little worried but was he gonna show it? No.

"No I'm telling you, he knows I like him." Zachary said, taking a sip of his martini glass.
"Oh my gash! What did he say?" Grae asked excitedly, wiping the spilled gin from the counter.
"Nothing" Zachary seethed, looking away from Grae. "absolutely fucking nothing."
Grae frowned hearing this. He looked up from the counter with worried and sympathetic eyes.
"Are you okay? I mean... with your crush dismissing your feelings like that?"
"I..." Zachary started, lifting his glass up for a refill, which Grae happily poured? "Am more than okay. Im fine."
"Are you sure?"Grae asked, unsure of his friends' words. Situations like these are a hard blow to any person.
"Yes" Zachary confirmed, looking into graes eyes with certainty. "I'm sure"
A brief moment of silence passed until Zachary's face brightened, taking Grae by surprise.
"Let's go swim in the pool!" Zachary said excitedly.
"Um... I don't think that's a go- Zachary get your drunk ass back here!"
It was too late. A big splash was heard from the back yard. Grae sprinted through the house to the back porch where he saw Zachary in the water, struggling to keep his head above the crystal blue water.
"I... can't... breathe"
"OH MY GHAD!!!" Grae screamed, looking for a solution to this predicament. There was no way he was getting into that pool when he got his hair done this morning. No way at all.
In the corner of the yard near the tool shed, he spotted a broom and immediately, he got an idea. He sprinted to the broom and back tiled edge of the pool.
"Quick, grab onto the broomstick!" Grae shouted.
Zachary weakly grabbed onto the broomstick but tugged onto it with a little too much force, making Grae fall into the pool. There goes his hair do.
"YOU MOTHER FUCKER!" Grae shouted as soon as he resurfaced.
"You know what, I'm gonna get you healthy then make you sick again just for ruining my hair. You bitch. Oh yeah, youre drowning."
Grae swam over to the drowning Zachary and hoisted him up, making sure that his head is above water. Zachary grabbed onto his hips, coughing violently while Grae rubbed his back in aid of support.
"Are you alright?" Grae asked worriedly.
Zachary pulled his head back and was met with graes beautiful face.
He noticed the boys sharp jaw line and that pale skin. Those plump lips and that cute pointed nose. That tinted rosy cheeks made him melt like jelly in graes embrace. He noticed the way graes eyes change from the dark brown to a lighter hazel colour in the sun, with those beautiful long lashes to compliment it. He smells so... sweet. A smell so addicting. Attractive even.
Zachary was lost for words in that moment. All he could do was nod in reply. 'Graes kinda cute' he thought to himself.
"You silly dumbo, you know you can't swim under the influence. What the fuck is wrong with you?" Grae asked jokingly.
"Stay in the pool. I'm gonna go fetch a towel. Don't get out or you'll catch a cold" Grae warned.
"Yes mother" Zachary sarcastically replied as he watched Grae get out of the pool to retrieve a towel.
Zachary looked down at the water. He couldn't help but wonder: is he developing feelings for his friend? No it can't be. It's just then gin.
