"Bye Zach" Grae greeted as he walked to his assigned class. The bell had just rung signaling that it was first period. Zachary had history. Turning on his heel, he walked to his history class.
Along the sides of the corridor, he saw Hayden and a couple of his friends laughing and chatting in their group. Zachary smiled. The way Haydens teeth shined when he smiled was so... mesmerizing. The way his hair fell from side to side every time he turns his head was so surreal. Saying that the boy looked perfect was an understatement. He was an angel in Zachary's eyes.
As he neared the history class, his path was blocked by his history teacher, Mr. Warren. Mr. Warren was a short middle aged ball of fluff. He had a fat face and wore small circular glasses on his face. He made the habit of wearing the same brown suit and drinking the same cheap filter coffee every single day and he never skipped a day of work. Zachary and he came a long way because Zachary was his star student (except for Amy braveheart) because they were basically the only ones to take down notes and participate during lessons.
"Mr. Wintergard" Mr. Warren announced
"Yes Mr. Warren?" Zachary asked. "Is there a problem?"
Mr. Warren fiddled with his hands a bit. Zachary could tell there was something up with him. Finally gathering the right words to say, Mr. Warren looked Zachary in the eye and said
"Yes there is a problem- not with you though. Are you familiar with the man by the name of Hayden golias?"
Zacchary's head shot up at the name. Just the sound of it makes his heart pump faster.
"Yes I am. Why do you ask?" Zachary asked, confusedly.
"Recently um... we have noticed a massive decline in haydens chemistry marks so we called him in to discuss what was going wrong. He only told us now that he is not coping with all the work and that it was too complex for him to understand. That's when we... as the board decided to move him to a subject that he can cope with. history."
Zachary was still confused. What does all this have to do with him?
"Okay... what does all this have to do with me?" Zachary asked, clutching the few books in his hands tighter to his chest.
Mr. Warren looked at Zachary quite wearily.
"we... as a student council kind of need you to get Hayden up to date with all the years work so far." Mr. Warren stated.
Zachary's eyes widened. This was asking for the impossible! Finals are a month away which means he as four weeks to cram all the theory into this boys head? Zachary bet that Hayden had zero to no knowledge about any historical story at all.
Mr. Warren took Zachary's hand in his.
"Zachary, I believe that you're the only one I can count on right now to bring this kid up to speed. You're the only one who understands what I taught and I really can't give him the one on one attention that he needs right now. I put my trust in you. I trust that you will make him understand all the years content. I have faith in you."
Zachary was blank. He didn't know what to say. Next thing he knew, he was mindlessly nodding at what the teacher had just said which means that he had just agreed to this crazy idea. He just confirmed the trust that this teacher had in him. He guesses he has no choice now.
