As usual, when we got home, we undressed, had lunch and worked on our homeworks. Then we usually play games like catch or we play in the rain if it's raining. Jayci loved playing puzzle. Some times, she wins while other times I let her win. Jaycinel had not given up on her prayer that mom comes back and mom never called like she promised. After playing that evening, we had our bath. I asked jayci to tell me all that happened in school.
"Today, I failed my English." Jayci told me.
"Baby, is that why you were crying at school?'' I asked her.
She shook her head.
"No, my teacher said she didn't blame me that I failed English. She told me that blacks are not supposed to go to school."
"Huh! She said that? That's so mean."
"Yeah, she said my parents and Aby's parents are wasting their money to take care of us. She said if she has a black kid she's gonna throw it away or set the baby up for adoption." Jayci told me.
Can you imagine? What teacher says that to a five years old child? She was definitely psycho number 4.
"Jayci, when you round up kindergarten, you're gonna move schools, okay?"
"No, I don't wanna go to school anymore."
"Baby, I'm gonna sue your teacher, she's not allowed to treat you like that. You'll go to school and be a great woman, okay?"
And like I promised Jaycinel, I did sue her teacher but guess what, the case was dismissed. That's my state for you. It looked like there was no law against racism. No Justice for the black. Living like we are in 18th century. So, dear black person, please comfort your black brothers for we are refugees in our land. I promised my sister that she'd move school by April.

A week from now was my prom night, a week from now Jayci will be rounding up kindergarten, a week from now, it would be three months and two weeks since she left. Now, things were so tough for me. I had little money with me now. Mom's credit card could not sustain for a lifetime. I'd pick up a part time job after high school. I was not a girl to babysit even though I was practically babysitting my sister. I'd consider working in a coffee shop or in a bakery.
The good lord helped Jsyci to survive in her class for these three months. I wondered why of all living beings, it was her class teacher who made her cry ninety-eight percent of the times she had come home crying. It will all be over in one week. If only I knew how they'd make it over in the worst way ever.

Yesterday, Jayci and I had gone to a cloth store along the street to pick up a dress for my prom night and Jaycinel's school party. Honestly, I tried to explain how we didn't have sufficient money to Jaycinel but no, she told me that her teacher told them to dress in their finest dress because they'll only graduate from kindergarten once in their life okay. So I had to buy her a fine white dress laced pink roses while I bought a sleeveless flea red gown for my self.Luckily, the owner of the cloth store informed me that she needed a sales assistant so if I knew any friend that could do it, I should inform her. Of course, I'm my only friend so I told her I was going to check on her on Monday.
So, Prom decided to fall on the same day with Jayci's party. That day, I dropped Jayci at her party. She was disappointed that Aby didn't come so she said I should take her away. I told her she'd follow me to my prom party and she was excited. It was unfortunate that my school hosted prom for whites only. Confused right? Me too. I was expected to feel bad but I laughed hard when I went to the prom hall and I saw poster that read 'WHITES ONLY '. I was not the only black in my school, Kelvin Edison was black too and so was Grace Elliot but they were far from being bullied because it's either you are white or you are rich. And you guessed right if you were thinking they had rich parents but look at me.
I stood in front of prom hall still laughing when principal Cain arrived prom hall. Staring at the posters, just like me, he began to yell that whoever put those posters should remove them and he began to apologise to Jaycinel and I. At least, he had a sense of reasoning. I told him it was totallyokay but I left with my sister to the park, to have the greatest fun of our lives.
I wasn't joking when I told you they pushed me.

It's me again telling you to press that pretty star. 🌟Tell me what you think about racism and stereotype.
Have you ever been bullied?
This was a longer chapter, my fingers are tired.
