Season 3 of JJBA features a new main JoJo as well, Jotaro Kujo, son of Holly Joestar and a Japanese man, Mr. JoJo. At 17 years old, Jotaro finds himself getting into a fight, and it caused him to be sent to jail. Joseph Joestar, now 69 years old, travels from New York to Japan to get his grandson out of jail, to which Jotaro refuses, saying that an "evil spirit" had possessed him. Joseph bright along an Egyptian man named Mohammed Avail to help get Jotaro out, to which he succeeds by using a power called a Stand, which is what Jotaro's evil spirit is. Joseph explains to Joseph, and they all go home to the Kujo residence, whilst Jotaro goes back to school.
At school, Jotaro encounters a guy named Noriyaki Kakyoin, who is later discovered to be under control by a flesh bud, and guess who made the bud in the first place? IT'S FUCKING DIO, THE BASTARD IS STILL ALIVE??? BY STEALING JONATHAN'S BODY??? YEAH???
Anyway, Jotaro and Kakyoin have a fight, JoJo takes the bud out of Kakyoin and he returns to his senses. At the Kujo residence, we see Holly fall ill to an unknown cause, but we see that she starts developing a Stand. Unfortunately, Holly has never fought in her life, so she is unable to handle the sheer pressure of developing a Stand. So Jotaro, Kakyoin, Joseph and Avdol all go to Egypt, since that's where DIO is. Also his name is in capitals now. And since DIO has Jonathan's body, he can sense the other Joestars coming to defeat him. Apparently, DIO has a super powerful stand and it's invincible or something.
On the way to Egypt, the Crusaders fight more stand users, 13 to be exact. The Stand's and their names are based off of tarot cards, and on the way they also meet Jean Pierre Polnareff, a French man who joins the Crusaders. He wants to avenge his sister or whatever so he joins to find the man who killed her, and to take his revenge. At some point it looks like Avdol died, but he's brought back in a few episodes.
50 days pass and the Crusaders fought all 13 stand users, but not without facing 9 more who are based off the 9 Egyptian gods. After that, they finally fight DIO, who kills Kakyoin and his partner, Vanilla Ice, actually kills Avdol and later Iggy, a dog stand user who joined them a while ago. Polnareff is devastated and then we go back to DIO, who kills Joseph and takes his blood to power himself up, and to further combine his head with Jonathan's body.
He and Jotaro fight, which reveals the true power of DIO's stand, The World. It can stop time and Jotaro, along with his Star Platinum, learn how to move in stopped time, and it brought about DIO's downfall. Afterwards, Joseph gets revived by having DIO's blood be trasfused into his corpse, how that worked, I have no fucking clue. It's anime, dude.
The three remaining Crusaders meet up one last time, before never seeing each other again, and Holly is saved. Somehow-
