I headed to the canteen after putting my things in my locker. I waited in line and bought some bread and milk. I was walking in the middle of my way to the exit when someone tripped me. I fell on the floor and the milk I bought spilled.

My fucking milk...

I slowly stood up and turned around to see who the fuck tripped me. Of course, it's Kai fucking McKenzie. I looked at him furiously and curled my hands, itching to punch his annoyingly emotionless face. I know deep inside he's laughing.

I heard running footsteps on my side and shortly another person appears. Without looking away from Kai, I know it's the guy who named Zackary. I recognized the familiar tall figure in my peripheral vision.

His eyes fell on the floor where my food was laying at and he gasped. He looked at us nervously, not knowing how to stop me and Kai from exchanging dark glares before it turns into a fight.

"Uhmm... Can you two----"

"Shut up, dude" I cut him off angrily and he immediately shut his mouth, covering it with his hand.

My action made Kai glared at me dead in the eyes but instead of getting scared of it, I stared back with the same glare too. I turned my head to look at the guy and my eyes fell on his two hands, holding a juice and milk. My jaw clenched in anger as a thought came to my mind. Without asking, I snatched the juice from the tall male's hands and immediately splashed it in Kai's face. The crowd gasped from what I did. They started to whisper,  lowly, afraid that they'll make their so-called cold prince angry even more.

"Oh my god, she's so dead! "

"She's literally dead, I can't wait to hear her getting expelled on the next day"

I ignored the murmurs. I'm still not satisfied with what I did to Kai so I throw the plastic cup in his face. The smirk on my lips turned into a satisfied smile after the cup hit his face.

I looked at the guy again and into his milk. I smiled playfully at him, making him gulped. I snatched his milk and took my bread on the floor. I turned around to head out but got stopped when he grabbed my arm.

"H-heyy! It's my m-milk!.." he exclaimed. I turned to face him and yanked my arm. I glared making his hands fell on his sides with his face saddening. Suddenly, my heart stung. I can't explain what I feel right now because my emotions suddenly started to mix. I'm confused.

'How can I do that to someone who's soft-hearted?' ..

I sighed and hesitantly shove the milk back to Zack's chest. Maintaining the hard look on my face. In his back, I saw Raven blankly staring at me. I chose to shrug it off.

I turned to Kai and cursed at him. I fixed my uniform first before heading to the exit with my head straight ahead. I don't want to make eye contact with anybody.

Now that I lost my appetite, I angrily shoved my bread inside my bag. I walked to the big tree on the back of the school and climbed up high enough to see the other students from afar climbing on the fence. I sighed and think about what happened earlier. That sad face of the guy appears on my head.

I punched my chest hard. No, I won't let that guy get my heart soft. He's just one of them. Fake and cruel. I won't fall for his act. I closed my eyes and flashbacks appeared.

I was sitting on the big tree, relaxing and waiting for the bell to ring. Suddenly I saw my friends were about to pass the tree I'm at. I was about to call them but I stopped when I saw how serious and annoyed their faces looked while talking to each other. They stopped right in front of the tree and continued talking. So instead of calling them, I decided to just eavesdrop. At first, their voices are muffled but eventually, I hear their voices. But once I finally heard them. My heart stopped and beats rapidly. Some part of me regretted eavesdropping and the other one says thank goodness I did.

"Kenji? To be honest, she's one hell of an annoying girl"

"Yeah, the way she teaches us in English? God, she thinks so high on herself!"

"It annoys me when she gets the highest scores among us"

"I want to get her out of my life already"

"We can't because we still need her to pass the subjects and her money- did you forget our plan?"

" what plan?"

"Gosh, do you have amnesia? The plan is to go to her house and take the damn jewelry we want"

"You know we can just study by ourselves-"

" Duhh!, why would we? Studying is just a waste of time,"

"Well, we have to wait until this school year ends. We'll get the jewelry and her money then dump her after."

Suddenly, a tear slipped down my cheek. I immediately wiped it. I can't believe they backstabbed me. Those bitches, after all what I've done to them? They'll repay with that? It's so disappointing. How could they?

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes as I felt the corners of it stings. It's a good thing that I didn't tell them about my problems cause if I told them who knows what will happen.

"Hey, Ruby, can you help with this---"

"I'm busy. "

"What about me? Can you do----"

"I said I'm fucking busy! Are you all dumb?!"

"Bitch, what the fuck we're just asking for your help"

"Why can't you do it by yourselves? We attend school to study and answer the fucking tasks to see if we understand the lessons"

"Look, we don't understand the lesson even if we study harder---"

"If that's so, just stop studying you're just wasting your parent's money. "

"You know what?! Our friendship is over" I stood up and grabbed my things.

"Okay," I scoffed. " Y'all didn't think that I wouldn't hear you all backstabbing me?" I smirked when I saw how they got surprised.

"Y'all even want to steal my jewelry and money? Huh you wish"

"Let's see what will happen to your grades bitches and you know what? I hope your life goes miserable. " I said and walked away. It's okay to cut ties with your friends. Especially the ones who just befriended you because you're rich.
