I patted her head, hoping to calm her down. I know what she saw was horrific but this is the only way to calm her.

"Wait here, I wanna see it." I pulled away from her.

"No, don't go. " She gripped my wrist tighter.

"I want to see it- "

"Kenji! " I whipped my head towards the tall guy, Zack.

"Oh, Zack " I greeted him and pushed the girl towards him. He reacted quickly and catches the girl in his arms.

" Hold her for a sec. " I said and walk towards the school gate.

I was about to step in but a police officer stopped me.

"Let me in- "

"Students are not allowed kid, go back until we say so" He cuts me off. I rolled my eyes and went back to Zack.

I saw them standing beside each other awkwardly.

" You know, we can't go inside there " He chuckles, making the girl turn her head towards him and blush.

I just sighed and turned my back to them.

We watched as the bodies were taken out one by one with the family bawling their eyes out on their child's side.

We went to a cafe near the school after the school's principal announced that the class is suspended until next Monday.

We sat at the back of the cafe with a cup of smoothies and pastries on our table. None of us aren't starting a conversation not until a ringtone broke the suffocating silence.

I didn't feel my phone vibrating so I did not bother to move on my spot.

"I gotta go now, my mom's calling me."  We turned our attention to the girl who sat beside Zack, getting up from her seat.

The tall male nodded and smiled at her. " okay, take care. "

I observed them as the girl turned red.  I smirk.

"Zack, why don't you walk her home? It's dangerous for her to go home by herself " I said, biting my lip as I bobbed my eyebrows up and down. I took a peek at the girl and saw a glimpse of hope on her face.

"B- but what about you?" He hesitantly said. I rolled my eyes.

"I'll be alright, besides, my house is not that far unlike hers," I said. Crossing my arms. I nod my head to the side, telling them to leave.

He sighs and stood up. Grabbing his bag and the smoothie before he led the girl outside.

I let out a small smile when the girl looked at me with her gleeful eyes before walking out of the glass door that Zackary held open for her.

I took my phone out and sipped on my smoothie. Sigh.

Now I'm alone again.

"Are you sure you didn't leave any trace there?" The man in a suit asks.

The young man smirked. "I didn't pass the tests to only leave any evidence there."

The man scoffed in amusement. "You know what will happen if you got caught right?"

The young man laughs sarcastically at thought of him being slowly tortured to death but he knows that won't happen.

"hell that won't happen"

"Mmm..that's what I thought. You can leave now." the mid-thirty man says, dismissing the young boy.

As the young boy leaves the office, the man leaned his back on the couch, sipping his red wine, staring at the pictures of his family across the wall.

"Just wait a little bit more, Reiya. Our family will be complete again."

Kenji's POV

I sat in the living, scrolling through social media. I soon got bored with it and decided to turn on the tv.

Watching a boring horror movie. As if on cue, I twisted my head towards the front door when it opened, revealing the boy that I despise so much.

He was carrying large plastic bags while taking his shoes off. I guess he went to the grocery store?

I immediately turned my head to the tv when he looked up. I kept looking at the tv and pretended to be cool when he walked passed to the kitchen. I wonder what he ate to be like this. I didn't put any poison on the food this morning.

I tried to focus on the movie but to no avail, his behavior right now and the noise from the kitchen is disturbing me. What he's showing right now is far from his true character.

Soon, I heard his footsteps coming out of the kitchen. He walked past behind the couch where I'm sitting and went upstairs.

I immediately stood up and walked close to the stairs. Hearing his bedroom door closed gave me a chance to go to the kitchen to check what he bought.

I opened the fridge and saw a lot of food inside but most of them are grape juice. Sigh.

I closed the fridge and saw a figure on the reflection.

" what the fuc- " he stepped up closer. His hot breath hitting the top of my head. He's now wearing a white sweater. Is he doing it again?

"Can you move? you're blocking the fridge." The hell?

I pushed his shoulder and walked out of the kitchen. Man, that's embarrassing. I was about to sit on the couch when I felt a hand grabbing my wrist, dragging me back to the kitchen.

"Cook, I want a steak." He says, crossing his arms. Who does he think he is to command me?

"I don't want to-"

"What's rule number one again?" He cuts me off. Slowly caging me between the kitchen counter. I didn't respond instead I glared at him.

"Say it." He clenched his jaw. Eyebrows furrowing. Damn, he looked scary.

" d-don't talk back. " I mentally smacked my head from stuttering. What the hell is happening to me.

"That's right, follow the rules and cook for me," he said and walked out.

I stared at him in disbelief. So now I'm a servant?

I shook my head and started to prepare the ingredients. If only poisoning is not illegal he'll be dead by now.
