Chapter thirty-five:
"Cyra, what are you doing?!" Pierre restrained himself from shouting but his irritation was clear as the day in his voice.
"This has to be done, dad," Cyra tried telling him calmly.
"No. You are only doing this because of that son of a bitch Mate of yours," he spat.
Cyra's surprised expression was mirrored by the rest in the room. None of them had ever seen this cool, collected man speaking in such a harsh tone before.
"Why are you talking about him like that?!" Cyra raised her voice to defend her Mate.
"This is all his fault! He left and you are hellbent on going on this suicidal mission. What do you think you are playing at, young lady?" He said, his eyes blazing with fury.
"It is not his fault! This is for the Pack. Besides, he went away for a while to clear his head but will be back soon," she said trying to conceal her emotions but a little bit of doubt managed to leak through.
"Cyra, enough! You are not doing this. I saw how you were last night. Don't lie to me!" Her father's voice rose to a thunderous volume.
"You caught me at a bad time! Even if it was for Sebastian, why would I hurt myself and cause him more pain?" She retorted.
"Don't you fucking dare take that bastard's name!" His voice bombarded against the walls of the closed room making the others jump in their seats.
Cyra narrowed her eyes at her father. She thought he would be understanding and she could trust him but apparently not. "You don't make the rules anymore. Don't forget that I'm your Alpha now," she said, her voice having dropped down a few octaves, her eyes darkening, her irises eclipsed the whites of her eyes.
"You're my daughter!" He snapped.
"At this moment, I'm your Alpha," she banged her fist against the table making it crack and the sphincters pierced through her skin. "You will respect me and obey my commands."
He wanted to yell some sense into her but he couldn't physically move a muscle.
"Am I understood?"
He glared at his daughter, his own eyes darkening but the Wolf in him wouldn't come forth, only cowering further away from his subconscious.
"Am I understood, Pierre?!" She finally shouted, her voice reverberating throughout the house. A pin drop silence followed, she could hear everybody in the house had gone completely still but she couldn't care less.
"Yes, Alpha," Pierre reluctantly muttered. He may have an Alpha Wolf but it still would bow down to the Alpha of the Pack he was in.
"Get out."
He didn't argue further as he stormed out the room, slamming the door shut behind him.
Cyra fell back against the chair rubbing her temples. She hadn't even started her mission and already she had to face so many obstacles. She thought she could count on her family to have her back during these challenging times but apparently not. Leo was upset, her father was mad and she didn't need her mother entering the room with guns blazing to know she would throw a fit as well.
"Cyra, I'm always behind you no matter your choice but you have thought this through, right?" Djo asked, slightly nervous about this after the way everybody else reacted.
Her eyes snapped open as she glowered at her friend.
"Cyra, we are just making sure. You know what will happen if the Witches are unhappy with you, right?" Ceilani for the first time spoke up. "If worst comes to worst, your body would be mutilated and they will have your Wolf spirit prisoned for the rest of your life."
