When The Devil Noticed Her

Chapter 9

Mia's Pov

I felt a light caressing hand tapping my checks, I like the warm feeling I am experiencing now from the foreign object in my skin, it made me jolt and open my eyes.

“Were here” I heard someone said, I tilt my eyes and saw the devil smiling at me then I notice my head was resting on his shoulder. I felt embarrassed again. I arrange myself back into my seat and slightly touch my mouth, examining if I drooled. Thank God, there was nothing.  Why didn’t he pushed my head back to my head rest? Did he do something or he was just being nice? Did I like the feeling of his warm hand in my checks? God, what is happening to me? I am overthinking again.

He stood up and collect his bag that was above our head. I’m relieved he didn’t started to fuss again. I stood up and walked towards the exit of the bus, my bag was on its compartment so I have to collect it outside. When I finally went out, others were collecting their bags at the bus compartment, so I waited until they are done. My bag was pushed to the side, I couldn’t reach it, thankfully a helping hand reached it for me. It was Shion.

“Here” he handed me my luggage.

“Thanks” I uttered and smiled to him. I started strolling it to the ground when he snatched it from my hand.

“Let me help you”, I was surprise by his action. He smiled showing her pearly white teeth. I don’t want to bother him so I refused and he has his own bag to carry, it will just slow him down.

“Thanks, but I really can take it from here and it is really not heavy”, I told him but he seems determined to take it.

“Just let me help you and I don’t take “no” as an answer”, I found no words from my mouth. He started strolling my luggage as well as his. I just let him do it, I will just give him compensation later.

When we arrived at the pent house where we will be staying. He gave me back my luggage and I gave him a cola and bread as compensation. I don’t have anything from me except those. Those were some of the foods Lily packed for me.

“I’m sorry, I don’t have much to give you, just accept these”, I hand him my cola and bread.

“Thanks, you don’t need to bother me with these, but I will accept it since it came from you”, he winked and smiled genuinely. It made me smile also.

Is he flirting with me? I shrugged myself because I know it will never happen. Maybe he was just like that to everyone. I don’t want to give meaning to his kindness. I bid my goodbye to him and walk towards the room Mr. Martin said the girls will be staying.

 
When I arrived at the room, I saw two beds that means I will have a companion in this room. I carefully place my things under my bed and prepare the camera I lend from Marcel. I really don’t have the budget to buy something like this for myself but I am saving my allowance to buy one.

Since it was still early, I decided to see the site where we will be working on starting tomorrow. I bring with me the camera and a small back pack which has my things. The site was old but the architectural design was amazing. It was like I am walking in one of the ancient building of Greece. I took pictures of the design crafted in the walls and continued examining the place. I took pictures of the fall view and the inner view, I will consolidate it later to see what kind of design was used by the architect of their era.

As I was listing down notes and sketching some of the patterns I saw, I heard a faint conversation. I don’t want to eavesdrop but I couldn’t help it, I can really hear them. Since I was curious I peeked at the persons behind the wall bricks.

It was the Devil and a girl, I whispered to myself. This girl was part of the team and is in sophomore year. I saw her earlier talking to Shion. I thought she is Shion’s girlfriend. I assess the woman’s figure. She was tall and beautiful, pointed nose, straight hair and has perfect curve. She was like a supermodel.
