PART .19.

**POV:K**

The sudden urge to let out a throat burning scream began setting in, wanting me to desperately let out all of my confusion and stress. I wasn't even sure if that was reality, and I wasn't even sure if those events playing out in front of my very eyes were something to believe as the truth.

Maybe I was too oblivious and too innocent to believe, since I didn't want to, but even then, who would want to believe that that situation was a reality?

It's been about an hour since I ran away from Levi, his words piled on top of the immense sorrow that I was already feeling caused me to commit yet another rash action, sprinting across the hallways of the right wing, before realizing that all exits from it that led to the lobby were blocked.

An explosion caused all of that, and whoever did it wanted us all dead. Recalling the way Lindsey tried to poison me, and how the killer wanted to frame me for their crimes, I would assume that they were going after me, so I had to keep my guard up and stick to Charles, Lin, or Mag if I found them.

I was all alone, cautiously walking the spacious hallways of the right wing, already being on the third floor of the hotel. There was nothing special there, nothing that piqued my interest, and on top of that, I had nowhere to hide. The main key that I used to open up every single door to that hotel was in the lobby behind the reception desk... if only I took it for good measure.

My only goal was to find my friends, as well as Levi, since they were the only people that I trusted. There was a hungry, starving murderer on the loose after all, I had to find them.

Charles's room was in the right wing, but all the way up on the fifth floor, I had to get there in time before anything bad happened. Deep inside, I wanted my only source of trouble to be gone, which was Zarius, I wished for him to be buried under a pile of rubble, suffocating on the dirt and debris, that would be a death well deserved.

The sound of my footsteps bounced against the walls of the hallway, creating a very consistent and repetitive echo as I walked, but that wasn't going to be a good thing any time soon, since it gave away my position.

The stairs were as long as ever, taking me a few minutes before I made it to my destination, breathing heavily and slumping against a wall. The air was thick and hard to breathe in, causing my entire mind to flood with concern and worry.

It didn't smell like anything, but the atmosphere was very dull, almost suffocating and tiring to be in. Something was off, and I could almost feel it lurking inside of that floor somewhere, threatening to attack at any moment.

A faint, banging sound could be heard from the other end of the hallway I was in, but I was too terrified to even move, reaching a hand to grab a spear from the armour stands. My fingers curled around the handle of the spear tightly.

My breathing was heavy, and my body was weakening from the immense pressure crushing down on me. If anything were to happen, I wasn't going to go down without a fight, I wasn't going to let them beat me down and expect to not get back up. I wasn't going to repeat the same mistake of not resisting, of not struggling against my attackers.

The banging sound stopped, only being replaced by the revolting noise of splitting flesh and loud chewing... I was getting closer. I was trying to be as stealthy as possible, if I saw who it was, I wouldn't hesitate to bring a spear through their heads if it meant saving us.

It was coming from Charles's room, that noise. My heart was about to sink to my stomach, which was going to cause me to break down right then and there, but I had no time for that, I had to make sure for myself that that wasn't who I thought it was...
