Nixi woke up the next day in her own bed with JJ beside her a Pope on the floor next to her. Kie must have gone home after everything that happened. She looks down at her hand and winces as she sees the bright purple bruise that formed on her knuckles.

"That why you don't punch people in the face Nixi" JJ says while rubbing his eyes. Nixi had to admit that JJ's morning voice was really attractive. 

"Hey, at least i don't bring guns to party's" she says with a laugh.

"Can you both shut the hell up" Pope grumbles from the floor. Both Nixi and JJ laugh at this, it was as if Pope was the hungover one, and they both knew that that wasn't possible.

"We should go check on John b" Nixi says while getting out of bed and going to her dresser to get clean clothing for the day.

"Can we at least have breakfast first?" JJ groans. 

"Well its not like we can have pancakes or anything" Pope says sadly, "What? No power" he says while the other two look at him confused.

The trio go downstairs and make a lovely fruit salad for breakfast before heading over to the chateau.  when they get there they all decide to hang out on the porch.

Kie is playing the bongos when John b says, "Look, i'm calling it off. Alright." Nixi look at him. she couldn't believe he just wanted to give up like that. this could be a massive deal for them. "Peterkin said, if i stay out of the marsh for a few days she'll help me with DCS" he continues.

"And you believed her?" JJ says in shock. "Yes i believed her, JJ" John b exclaims.

"An actual cop, John b." JJ says wile sitting on a table, "You believed a cop." He finishes while he throws a rock towards the water.

"All i need to do is stay out of the march for a couple days and she'll help me out." John b states, "it doesn't help that your ass was the one shooting then gun." 

Nixi could see JJ getting angry. "You know what i should've done?" JJ starts, "Just let topper drown your ass." Nixi sighs, knowing that he doesn't mean that.

"Yea, cause Topper was gonna drown me?" John b said, also getting angry. "Sure looked like it" JJ says.

"Come on guys, chill" Nixi says trying to calm them both down. JJ grabs Nixi's arm showing john b her bruised hand "She got this trying to protect your ass" He says. Nixi watches John b's face fall when he see's it. "They always win, don't they?" JJ continues. "Kooks versus Pogues. They always, always win!" He says while punching a buoy.

"Its okay" Kie says trying not calm JJ down.

"No! It's not okay" JJ says turning back around to face them, "it is not, They don't was us to go down into the marsh. That means there is something valuable down there , and you know it" he says pointing at john b. "I know you do, and i understand why you don't wanna go" He continues looking at Pope, "your the golden boy, you've got way to much to risk. And you," he says looking at Kie "i mean, your already rich as fuck anyway. Why would you bother." JJ turns back to John b, "i'm sure Nixi would love to help pops out, and you and me man, we've got nothing to loose. we really don't."

"JJ" John b sighs.

"And i know, it didn't use to be that way for you."

"I don't wanna talk about this." John b says interrupting JJ, "I don't wanna talk about it."

"So that's it?" JJ says standing in front of John b. "Just get out of my way bro" John b says, pushing JJ out of his way.

"John b listen to me, I've got a plan, you've got the key to Cameron's big boat right?" he says. "There's scuba gear in there. We just borrow that, and go down to the wreck this afternoon and that is whats gonna save you man." JJ says while John b shakes his head. "You don't see rich kids go into foster care, do you?"

Two hours later the teenagers were sitting in the HMS Pogue, on the marsh right next to the wreck with the Cameron's diving equipment.

"I'm pretty sure this is considered stealing" Nixi says looking at JJ.

"Nah, we are just borrowing it" he says. "Yea without permission" Kie says rolling her eyes.

Kie starts to look over the tanks and then frowns, "This is empty, you took empty tanks?" he says looking over to john b.

John b just stuttered before Kie says, "Okay, this ones a quarter full, its enough for one of us"

"Love it when a plan comes together" Pope says with a sigh.

"Does anybody even know how to dive?" Nixi asks looking around the group. "Anybody?

"It's kind of a kook sport" JJ says while looking down at the scuba gear no one knows how to use. "I read about it" Pope says trying to lighten the situation.

"Great! Pope read about it, so somebodies going to die" Nixi says sarcastically.

"Look, you put the thing in your mouth and you breath." JJ says, "How hard can it be?"

"Well if you come up too fast, nitrogen gets into your blood, and you could get the bends" Pope starts before JJ starts to make a joke about the bends. "The bends kill you" Pope says interrupting JJ's bad joke while Nixi laughs.

"I can- i can dive" John b says. Nixi scoffs, "Since when?"

"I'll do it, its fine" He continues. 

Pope starts to talk about calculations while Kie scolds John b and Nixi and JJ do the Pogues secret handshakes. After Nixi hears that 10ft is the safety stop, She takes her shirt off and dives into the water, Swims about 10 or so feet down, forces her eyes open and ties her shirt to the anchor rope. 

When she comes back to the surface she says, "Hey, i ties my shirt to the anchor chain about 10 feet down, its where you need to do your safety stop." she swim to the side of the boat and hauls herself up and watches John b get ready to dive.

"Zen, think zen" JJ says after John b starts to look uncomfortable.

Kie walks up to John b on the tip of the boat and kisses him on the cheek, "Diver down?" he says. "Diver down" she agrees.

JJ, Pope and Nixi all look at each other slightly confused. They knew John b had a thing for Kie, but now they were starting to think that Kie felt the same way.

John b salutes them as he sinks down into the water.

A couple minutes later the see a bout coming towards them, "Yep that's the police, shit" JJ says.

Welp, that's the end of this chapter, i'm really struggling to find inspiration to keep writing because of the whole lock down thing. but imma push through it. I hope you enjoyed this chapter!
