Dylan and I walked out to his jeep. I shut my front door and looked in my purse to grab my keys. I locked mom in the house.
"Did you talk to your mom about yesterday?"
"Yeah, she didn't go to work today because she didn't feel well." Dylan knew something was wrong as much as I did. "I told her to schedule an appointment. She said she would."
"Well, maybe we can get home in time to go along with her. I want to know what's wrong too."
My mom was like Dylan's mom.
We drove off. The school wasn't far from home. Sometimes I wish it was so Dylan and I could have more talking time. But, oh well.
We pulled in the school lot, it was too packed. Teenage kids j-walking, almost losing their lives.
"Ignorant kids. They see cars."
Dylan chuckled at me. "Wait until you get a car to start talking about these kids, haha."
I rolled my eyes and gave him a smile.
Everyone saw Dylan and I looking for a parking spot. They're eyes widened as if they'd seen a wild animal.Dylan and I parked finally. It was a little distance out, but I could use the walk.
We got out of the car, and literally all eyes were glued to us. I became stagnant. I didn't know where to go. It's like the earth stopped spinning and everyone just so happen to freeze in place with eyes glued to us.
"Umm, Dylan."
"Yeah, we're on the same page. Just walk."
Dylan and I held hands as we walked into the school doors.
"WHOAH! O'Brien and the crazy bitch Vintage!?"
Dylan's face got red. Former friends. The jock, and the nerd Dylan. I knew Rodney. He used to bully me in 9th grade. He's older than us.
"Rodney.." Dylan mumbled.
"What's up dude. Haven't seen you around much. You've been with this piece of a thot. No time for your real friends anymore huh?" Rodney smartly remarked. He was being the usual asshole he always was. I didn't see how him, the jock with all the chicks, could be friends with Dylan, the antisocial nerd.
"Rodney, we haven't talked in atleast a year dude. What are you talking about. You know what, I'm not gonna waste my time. My girlfriend isn't a "thot" she's far from the females you fuck with. It's best you leave me and mine alone."
Rodney gave me a daring look, and I put my head down. Dylan tugged my hand, basically letting me know everything is okay.
He started to walk, and Rodney stepped in front of him. He quickly pulled away from my hand, and pushed Rodney.
"Dylan, stop. Don't let him get a reaction out of you." I pulled Dylan back.
I saw the assistant principal walking out of the main office.
I whispered to Dylan, "let's go".
"Why is there a large crowd here? What's going on?" Ms. Greene asked.
I hated that bitch. She got me in trouble soo many times within this short school year. She was a part of the reason why I hated school.
"No ma'am, nothing here is wrong. We were just greeting our old friend here."
Rodney nodded at Dylan, and gave a sinister smile. He walked past him and bumped him.
"Good day O'Brien. See ya around."
"Get to class. The bell rings in 5." Ms. Greene was too snappy.
Dylan and I continued down the hallway. The schedules were posted on each and every one of the students lockers. Dylan and I compared classes.
"Dylan, our schedules are the exact same."
He smiled at me and picked me up by the waist and kissed me.
"Yeah, let's just go to our first class."
