Emma and Garrett walked to the room, where the vampire was held. As they turned down the hall, they saw Asher sitting outside the room. He lifted his head, looking their way, then he stood up.
"Lord Garrett," He greeted, "Emma?! Are you sure you're well enough to get up?"
"I'm fine, Asher. I can't stay in bed all the time. I need to push through some of the pain." Emma replied.
"You're in pain?"
"My leg's hurting a little bit, but it's still pretty numb. But, I'm walking, so that's a good thing."
"Heard anything from in there?" Garrett asked.
"No. He's been very quiet." Asher answered.
Garrett nodded and he approached the door and opened it
He halfway stepped into the room and saw the white haired vampire sitting on the bed, staring at the floor.
"Good evening." Garrett greeted.
The vampire lifted his head a little, looking Garrett's direction.
"I've brought someone here who wanted to see you." Garrett stepped in further and Emma slowly walked in.
The vampire looked her way and then he stood up, quickly, his eyes widening with shock.
"You--You're alive!" He spoke softly.
Emma smiled and she walked a bit closer, Garrett and Asher remaining where they stood.
"I am alive and I am well. Sorry if I worried you at all." She said.
Now that she was getting a pretty good look at him, she was able to take in his appearance. He stood around 5'9 or so, he had a lean body, his skin was pale white, even paler than Garrett, Asher, and Cole, which might be due to the fact he was a spawn before. He had dark undertones beneath his eyes and he had slender chiseled facial features. His snow white hair was styled to part on the left side of his head, have slight side bangs, his hair having a spiked end and it was a little longer in the back.
But, what really caught her attention was the black markings on the back of his hands, which looked like thorny vines, which appeared to travel up his arm, but she couldn't see much, due to his long sleeves. And his nails were also black, but they didn't look like claws, like they were when he was fighting.
"They, uh...told me what you did for me," The vampire sat back down on the edge of the bed, "Why would you do that? You saved me by letting me drink your blood. Why?"
"I know you had been telling me you wanted to die. But, I couldn't let you die, not like that. I wanted to give you that choice."
"A choice? What choice?"
"I told you that we would wait for Garrett, Asher, and Cole. So, that when they were here, then you could really make your decision. You may hate your existence, and you may think you have no reason to continue, but what I saw you do for me, a complete stranger, is someone who deserved a new chance. A new life."
"What life? I was human and then I became a monster. I see it, the images, I hear the voices of terror crying out echoing in my head, and I can still taste the blood of everyone I killed. Tell me something, how can I possibly redeem myself after the things I have done?"
"You're holding yourself accountable to things that you had no choice in. With that in mind, you will not ever be able to "redeem" yourself." Emma came to the vampire and knelt down in front of him.
"Do you honestly believe I can start over? Why would you want me to? Why did you help me? You don't even know who I am."
"You didn't know me either. And you protected me, twice."
