"Wait, hold on. You're not able to come over because why?!" Christina exclaimed over the phone.

"I said, it's because I have other plans." Emma replied as she continued to lightly curl her hair.

"Since when do you have plans? I thought you and I did everything together. We need a girl night, come on!"

"I'm sorry, Christina. This is kind of a thing I cannot miss. I've also been preparing for it for the last week."

"How come you're just now telling me this?"

"Because it wasn't that big of a deal."

"Not a big deal?! Hello, are we not of the same world?! This is you we're talking about! You never go out!"

"Christina, you're making this a bigger deal than it needs to be. Yes, you're right, I don't usually go out, but again, this is kind of a thing I am not allowed to miss."

"Okay, fine. But, we do need a girl's night again."

Emma sighed deeply.

"Yeah, I know. We'll do one soon."

"I'm holding you to that. So, what exactly are you doing tonight?"

"Remember those guys I told you about? They were invited to this party, I guess, and I've been requested to go with them."

"Ooh! Is it like a frat party? Girl, are you hanging out with college boys?!"

"No, it's nothing like that. It's some kind of fancy dinner party. A formal event."

"Well, that doesn't sound as fun. I was thinking you were leading a double life. A normal high school girl during the day, but a rowdy girl at night."

"Tell me that is not what you think of me! I do have self respect!"

"I'm teasing you. I know that is not what you're like at all. But, seriously, lately, you do seem a lot more...I don't know, secretive? Like you have a whole different life."

"We both have lives outside of one another, you know. Don't worry. It's not anything bad."

"Okay, I trust you. So, when do I actually get to meet these guys?"

"I don't know. As I told you, they're kind of reserved and try to keep to themselves. It was by chance that I met them."

"Well, tell me a little about them. You don't need to go into huge detail. Just say one thing about them."

Emma usually was very tight lipped when it came to Garrett, Asher, and Cole. She didn't worry that she would say anything about them being vampires. But, Garrett did warn her that there were eyes and ears for other vampires everywhere, even in her world.

But, she could at least say something nice about them.

"Well, they're all very kind. One of them is very empathetic and he kind of comes across as weird, but he's very sweet. The second is a bit on the rash side, but when it counts, he's very serious and seems loyal. And the last one, he's a bit of a mystery to me, but he also seems very sincere with what he says."

"They sound like really cool people. I hope I can meet them one day. And you are being safe with them, right?"

"Yes, of course. I don't think they would let anything happen to me. That much I do believe."

"All right. Okay, I'm going to go and binge watch some Netflix show that I have seen a few thousand times."

Emma chuckled.
