The Beginning of the Savior

        Ah finally I can wake up in my own time.  Chloe wasn’t anywhere in sight, she must be playing with Paolo.  She was usually there to wake me up every morning wanting to play, like she knew I had stayed up late the night before.  I stretched and got my clothes on for the day and made my way to the kitchen.  Chloe still wasn’t there, she must have left early because her dishes weren’t even on the table.  I made myself a protein shake and gulped it down as fast as I could.  They were good for me but man did they taste bad! When I went to greet my Grandfather, Chloe came running in the door.

“Come this way, hurry!” she proclaimed.

“Okay okay, I’m going as fast as I can!” A familiar voice came after.

That isn’t Paolo’s voice, but I know who it is.  It was Melissa, the newish farm owner.  She has been here a while and I’ve only seen her a few times to help her out but I enjoyed every moment of those few times.  Melissa had something about her that made me beam every time I saw her.  She is busy all the time though, I couldn’t hang out with her even If I wanted to.  She is impossible to find, so I just have to let her find me. 

“Oh! Hey Melissa! I didn’t know you were coming by?” Ugh why did I have to sound like such a buffoon?  That was totally noticeable! Act cool Owen. 

“I mean… I just…,”

“Chloe wanted to show me something she found in the mines,” She said with a smirk.  Phew maybe I didn’t blow my cover after all.  

“They’ve been out all morning,” my grandfather said. 

“Well good it gave me a little bit more sleep heh” I scratched my head trying to hide my smile from Melissa. 

“Cousin! Don’t act so shy, she’s just a girl!” Gah why did she have to say that!

“What do you know, Chloe!?” Chloe stuck her tongue out at me as she pulled Melissa into the backrooms.

“See you later, Owen!” Melissa yelled out last minute as she was dragged into Chloe’s room.  I didn’t have much time to think to myself before my Grandpa put his 2 cents into it.

“She’s cute!” I shivered a little just hearing that from him.

“Grandpa don’t embarrass me! So what if I like her a teensy tiny little bit.  I barely know her. Don’t push it!” I might have been a little harsh but goodness I was already embarrassed before he said anything.  Now that I think about it I probably didn’t make the situation any better for myself. 

I have to head down to the mines now.  I was hoping to see Melissa a little bit longer but Chloe has got her in her hold now.

I had been down in the mines for a long time, not just today. I mean I’m here every day and I’ve seen every square inch of this mine.  There’s got to be something more down here.  I’ve never climbed up the mines before, but that’s kind of Phoebe’s unspoken territory.  But hey it was unspoken I might as well explore up there!  Everything is different up here.  It’s brighter and I don’t get the same ores and wonderfuls from theses stones and crystals.  I like it though, nice and quiet, and I haven’t run into Phoebe yet!  It’s also a lot shorter than the downwards mines. I’m already at the top and it is only 13:00.  Is that a light? I walked through the exit at the top of the mines, squinting as I came out, still adjusting to the major light change.  Woah. It’s beautiful up here! And it looks like there is snow here all the time, but it is a little cold, I wasn’t prepared for this.  It’s spring after all!  Ooo a hot spring! I looked around and there didn’t seem to be anyone in sight, “Let’s just slip into something a little more comfortable.”  I took all of my clothes off and looked around once more and dipped my toe in the hot spring.  I don’t know how it stayed so hot up here but thank goddess it is! 

“Hello?”

I froze in place.  Someone was on the mountain top… Could it be Phoebe? Goddess, I hope it was just the wind.

“Owen?”…”Where are your clothes?”  Melissa had found her way to the top of the mountain.  How wonderful, even better than Phoebe.  Nope nope I can’t even joke with myself! I’m screwed, royally embarrassed.  I slipped down farther in the water as Melissa came down the steps, trying to cover as much as possible.

“Melissa… Wh-what are you doing up here?”

“I came to see the harvest king….and you?” She snickered at me.  This couldn’t be worse.  Wait, did she say she came to see someone up here.  I got naked for some guy!?

“Uh… I got a little cold while exploring up here okay!” She was obviously more comfortable in the situation than I was.

“So you took off all of your clothes and jumped in the closet pocket of water? You would have never known if someone was making their rounds up here!”  How did she get up here so fast anyways! I wish she would just drop the confusion and leave so I could put my clothes on! 

“Never mind that! How did you get up here so fast!?”

“My buddy, the Harvest King, gave me a secret path up here.  I came to drop off my daily gift. Why don’t you get your clothes on stud” She winked at me just before she ran up the mountain where the Harvest King was.  I got out of there as fast as I could.  I grabbed my clothes and ran back to the mines.  I hid behind the biggest rock I could find and put my clothes back on.  I will definitely be sticking to my usual mining area from now on. 

Lying in bed I thought about what had happened earlier.  It wasn’t just butterflies in my stomach that time, it was pterodactyls. I have never been more embarrassed in my life and it just had to be Melissa to catch me! I want to cry I’m so embarrassed.  What if she saw my butt as I ran down the mine?  Oh goddess I just need to stop thinking about it.  I fell asleep quickly and woke the same way.
