Hello everyone and welcome to the manor! We're all so excited to have you here! (I have no idea how to start this, so please bear with me.)

So, as the title may tell, this book is going to be about Wu Chang and Emily Dyer (or Lydia Jones). For the most part, the book will refer to her as Lydia with the exception of when she's talking to other survivors and the hunters. I wanted to do this in terms of signifying her regret (for her past actions). By referring to herself as Lydia, she admits that she was (the person) who did all those terrible things. While Lydia wants to fix (as many mistakes as she can), being around Emma/Lisa doesn't help her much. As she watches Emma's condition worsen, she continues to feel terrible about herself, even starting to believe that she doesn't deserve to make it out the manor.

But the main thing I wanted to talk about is how I'll be portraying Wu Chang. Are Xie and Fan going to share a body, or will they be seperated? Well, the answer is neither. While I know this strays from canon, I wanted to explore things from a different perspective - Wu Chang being his own person. (Well, sort of..? It's a bit hard to explain.) He'll still have his different versions, and the behaviors of Xie and Fan will carry over onto them. But, he won't be them. Basically, think of it like this: when Xie and Fan's souls entered the umbrella and merged, their minds and values and everything else merged, too. The end result was Wu Chang, who is now his own person and carries the memories of both individuals. Normally, he'll be in his Xie Bi'an state. Joyful and kind. However, when he is sad or upset (or just feels bad in general), he'll enter his Fan Wujiu state. Cold and precise. (He can still switch between the forms at will, though he can't control it when his emotions get all wonky - if that makes any sense.) I know that this development might upset some readers, but I think that this will be very interesting for me to write, and I hope that you might still enjoy it anyway.)

As for the update schedule, I plan on updating every other week (on Fridays). I can't guarantee I'll completely stick to (the schedule), but I promise that I'll try my best. Sometimes, I might take a while to update, though when I have a lot of free time, I might update multiple times per day. Really, my schedule is more of a goal, if anything. With that said, I'll end this author's note here. To everybody that's reading this, stay safe - we'll get through this! =]
