BENEATH THE SMILE

Chapter 3

I woke up by a knock on my door. This is frustrating. You can bully me all you want buy don't wake me up from my sleep .

"Come in ? " I say more of a question.

"Good morning Riley,you gonna be late for school."

Oh great ! Nice way to start your first day at a new school. I haven't remembered that I have school today .

"Okay"

"See you in five minutes".

Has he left. I went to the bathroom, brush my teeth and stand looking at my bath . It's huge! After I finish showering. I went to my wardrobe that was filled qith clothes that my uncle bought. I took out a black skinny jeans and a black long sleeve blouse to cover my cuts.I went downstairs to have breakfast with my uncle, who was already at the table.

" Hey you got like five minutes to eat"

" Five?" I asks

" yeah school starts in 15 . "

" not to rude or anything but why am I here?" I asks

"Your dad says you were having troubles so he thought it'd be great for you to have a fresh start. " he finishes with a smile.

" oh okay   So how old are you ?"

"I'm 29". He says

"Okay"

"I'll be in the car waiting,hurry"

After I've ate my breakfast. U went to the car, knocked on the window so he could unlock the door.

" Riles, can i call you that ?" He asks

I nod my head while trapping myself in the car..

"So Riles,I'll drop you at school and pick you up after and then go back to work okay." .he says

"Yeah uncle " . He started to laugh. Did i say something funnny ?

"Rules call me Marcus okay. By the way I love your accent."

" uh really ?" I asks with a smile

"Yeah. So what did your friends say when you told them you were moving to America?" He asks.

My smile fell,tears beaming to come out. I cleared my throat before saying" I didn't have any "

" okay . So make some today eh !" He says brightly.

" yeah I will . are you always this positive ? I asks

"Yeah . so here we are at your new school. Have a great day day Riles see you later."

" yeah bye Marcus " I say whilst he drive away.
