Chapter Seven: Waking to Fire

After settling back into your room and removing everything from your bag, you'd placed all of your things in areas that you could easily find them. You were bound to misplace something because of how forgetful you were, but, thankfully, everything that wasn't a clothing item fit out on your shelves and walls. You hummed in satisfaction, adjusting a UA flag on your wall.

"Perfect," you muttered, falling back onto your bed. You slowly raised your hand over your head, watching the key on your bracelet from Bakugo dangle. You'd almost forgotten to give his stuff back. You took the sweatshirt and blanket up in your arms, and you opened your door to go find Bakugo, only to lock eyes with him, standing there in the doorway.

"Oh." You jumped in surprise. "I was just going to go find you." You furrowed your brow at him. "You could have knocked. How long have you been standing here?"

Red surfaced on his cheeks and ended at the tips of his ears. "You ask too many questions, Big Brain." He snatched the materials from your hands, catching sight of the bracelet he'd given you on your wrist.

You took your chance when he paused. "Thank you by the way."

His red eyes came up to meet yours. "I told you that I was just doing it for Kirishima."

You shrugged. "If it weren't for you, I would have frozen to death. I guess I should have been more prepared. I sleepwalk almost every night." You nervously scratched the back of your head.

"Then you should let more people know before you scare the crap out of them," he said.

You took interest in your hands. "I don't want to worry anybody."

"Whatever," Bakugo snapped. He turned away from you. He stopped just before he was out of earshot. "Just keep that bracelet on so I don't find your dumb ass stuck on the couch again."

You tilted your head curiously at his retreating form. He might have been nicer than he let on.

That's still a lot of pent up rage in one guy, you thought.

You shut your door and settled back into your bed. You had half a mind to try and barricade the door. You knew it wouldn't work. You'd tried everything from tying yourself to the bed frame to leaving traps around, but you were never able to keep yourself from wandering in the middle of the night.

You buried your face into your pillow, feeling your phone buzz. You looked at your messages. Your parents had called again. You finally texted both of them that you were fine, just busy, and you apologized for not calling them. A string of texts followed, but you left them unread. You'd deal with them another day. You put your phone on silent and tossed it on your side table.
