chpt. 11

Today was the day of my life that meant the most to me, today was my graduation, and I was most excited to be accepted as valedictorian. I'm more than nervous, but I have been waiting on this moment for the longest and now is the time to test the waters and see what I can really do.

I was currently at graduation practice, I walked through the double doors, and was greeted with "hello's" and "how are you's".

I walked into the room where they were giving our gowns. I grabbed mine where my name was hanging above. Many questions flooded my mind, I didn't know how I would approach the people in the room, I was nerveous that I was gonna mess up on my speech.

My friend Madeline agreed to do my makeup, she was also in our senior group, so I sat and waited until she made an appearance. 20 minutes after listening to music and modeling around the room with my gown, I was interrupted when she came into the room.

"Oh wow is this what you do when your alone?" "I....I was distracted by the music, for a moment there I thought I was the only one here, how long have you been standing there".

"Long enough" she laughed
"okay that made me feel better" I said being sarcastic.
"Are you ready?"
" yea, lets get this over with"
"okay take a seat" she patted the chair. I sat down in the chair, the first thing she done was wipe my face with this cold substance, and she began doing my makeup. I guess only time will tell of how this is going to turn out.
[ 1 hour later]

She spun the chair around, and faced me in front of the mirror.
"you can look up now" I tilted my head up and opened my eyes.
"Wow Maddy this is amazing, thank you". I touched my hair that was now freshly curled.
" I might have to hire you as an makeup artist"
" I'm free anytime, just give me a call" she laughed. I got up from the chair.
"this is my first time actually wearing false lashes and they actually look great".

" I didn't want them to be to big since it was your first time really wearing them, I wanted them to be appropriate for the occasion"
" I love the whole look" I turned around and hugged her.
"I'm glad you love it, you deserve it valedictorian". "Yea, don't remind me"
"oh your going to do great, don't stress over it" I nodded my head.

There was a knock at the door.
"come in"
In walked Sarayah, Brycen, Khylil, Lance, Katie, Jullian, My mom, and John.
"Wow you look pretty, you did a good job Madeline" my mom said.
"Yea, maddy I hardly ever see her like this" Sarayah said.
"I'm so proud of all of you guys, and I just want to say congratulations, and I can't wait to see what life has ahead of all of you".

"Aww, thanks Mrs. Tameara" they all said
" thanks mom" I gave her a hug.
"Okay guys, lets all gather in for a group hug and prayer" Kylil said.
We all gathered in a circle.
"okay who wants to lead the prayer?" My mom said. "I will" they all looked at me.
"Ok..go ahead"

"bow your heads" they all put down their heads in unison.

"Dear heavenly Father I want to say thank you on behalf of everyone today, we are proud that we could all stick together to see our graduation day, I'm blessed to say that I am thankful for the breath you let stay in our bodies and the roof you have put over our heads, I want to pray that we all make something of our lives, and that we all have the strength to pull through, amen"
"amen" we said in unison.

"That was great" the door opened
"sorry to interrupt but it's time"
"okay thank you, were right behind you". I looked at everyone.
"okay guys lets go graduate, 2021 on three, 1....2..3.....2021!!" We all joined in laughter
"okay lets go". We walked out the room with our caps on our heads, we sat down in the chairs, and watched as the principal came up to begin the ceremony.
