...Seriously? This is how things are? We’ve lost the fight and the war. We can’t stand. We can’t fight. We can’t protect. We can’t even save ourselves. God what are we suppose to do.
Chapter 1
“WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO” I yell as I ride down the street on my brand new motorcycle. Its the first major purchase I’ve ever bought. I’ve been working for 3 years and dealing with school and I’ve finally done something with my money. It feels GREAT!
... Darn it where did all this traffic come from. Must have been an accident or something. Everyone is sitting outside their cars talking and getting associated with people they’ll never talk to again. I’m not really the type of person to talk to people that I’ll never interact with again. I mean what's the point?
“We’ve been stuck here for three hours.” A random voice says. I turn with my helmet still on and see a white dude with a weird gray hairstreak through the left side of his head. I look back ahead.
“ Rude I see.” He says as he walks to the side of me. I still take no interest in him because like I said... well thought, I’m not interested with temporary friendships. I look at him again and see if he’s going to walk away. Instead he walks to the van in front of me and leans on the trunk as if to say I’m not leaving til you say something.
“I’m not leaving till you say something.”
“ I already knew that once you leaned on the back of that laaaa...” I stop when I see a huge ape statured man get out the car and walk behind the kid.
“What were you going to say? It sounded like lady.” He turns to his right and see’s the man-ape standing beside him. The man reaches out to him with one hand and the dude stands his ground. I was surprised at his bravery so instead of trying to help him, I watch to see what happens next. The kid had heart. But after a swift punch from the man he quickly fell to the ground. Turns out the show wasn't worth watching. The man got in the car, I turned off my bike, set the quick stand, and help the dude back up.
"That was embarrassing," he says as he rubs his new bruise. "I didn't retaliate at all..."
Was he trying to impress me? He caught my attention so might as well entertain a conversation with him. "Names Cullin"
He looks at me and smirks. "It took for me to get blasted in the face for you to talk to me. So you like to pity people?"
Me being surprised and slightly angered at the comment that he just made I push him back on the ground. "I pity no one. You showed something that people now and days don't have. Plus you're a good person it seems." He gets back up and pushes me back. This is one annoying kid.
"Boooom". We look over at the front of the traffic to see a giant cloud of smoke and flames. Hundreds of relaxed people stop what they are doing and start to run away from it. I look at the cloud of smoke as it got closer. Wait, it wasn't coming towards me... I'm going towards it! Running faster than ever but I'm not scared of what happens. As I'm running, 2 furballs, -one smaller one on top of the other- run right past me. I wonder what was up with that. Couldn't tell if they were wolves, dogs, or bears. Oh well, I wasn't paying that much attention to them in the first place.
I look ahead and see 2 kids trapped in a car. I divert my path a little and yell to the kids "GET DOWN!" As I keep running towards them. They seem to hear me being the fact they immediately fall to the floor. without slowing my pace i jump on the car's back window and shatter it and keep moving forward. As I'm running, I see the furballs and the white kid disappear into the cloud. When did the white boy get in front of me? I look back to see how far I ran and see the 2 kids running away from the cloud. They turn around and wave bye and continue on. I wave back, turn around and see nothing but black. I'm in the cloud now.
