Chapter 7
“What are we doing here?” I ask as I get out the van.
“I was thinking coming back would help,” She says as she walks down the street towards the accident. She jumps on top of an abandoned car to look ahead. And she’s speechless. I hop onto another car and look to see a giant crevice where the smoke tornado was. It had created a uncrossable trench.
“How exactly did we survive?” Spark and I both look at Lily who now has a tear going down her face. “Why are you crying?” I ask outta pure concern. She turns and glares at me. This woman just gets ticked at everything I say.
“You four weren’t the only ones in the explosion. There were at least 60 other people who had died from it. You guys are only alive because that ‘thing’ let you live. To do it’s bidding. You annoy the hell outta me. Being so selfish and stupid should be a crime!”
“ME! SELFISH?! Before I was engulfed in that tornado to OZ I saved 2 kids from being caught in it.” She looks at me surprised. “I did it instinctively. If you think I’m still selfish than you are the true idiot.” Spark barks and his sparks bounce of the back of my head. I take the bag and swing it around. “What was that for??” The puppy looks to the left and points at two familiar faces. But the dog has a different look. His back is now covered in big, black spots but his face looks as scary as before. Watern still looks the same though.
“BROTHER!” I hear a deep yell come outta nowhere. Me and Lily both look around to see if there were more people around. We then both turn back around to see the behemoth of a dog dashing towards me at great speed.
“No, No NO NO NOOO!!!” I yell as the dog tackles me off the car. I take a hard thud to the pavement. I feel like my back is shattered. This dog has to be at least 200 if not 250 pounds, throwing himself at me. I almost go unconscious as the dog quickly takes Spark out the bag and place his paws on Sparks sides. I look up to see Spark giving gestures of what has happened since we woke up. I slowly try to sit up but the dog gives a pretty menacing growl. I freeze in fear than match his intensity with my own glare. I don’t like being punked out that easily.
Spark puts his paw on the Dogs face. He then acts out something that makes the dog come and lick me. “Nice to meet you, Cullin.”
The dog just talked... The dog... Just... Talked. I’m going insane. These two dogs are unreal.
I start to have a mental break down.
“WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON???? WHY CAN THIS DOG TALK? WHY DOES SPARK SHAKE SPARKS??? WHY DOES LILY KNOW SO MUCH?? WHY AND HOW AM I STILL ALIVE?????”
Everyone runs up to me and yells stop as Watern punches the spit out of my mouth.
“Get a hold of yourself dude. We have to figure some stuff out. I think that we have super powers man.”
