Chapter 12

“Huh? Why did you accept so quickly? I can see into you and no part of you is saying yes. A matter of fact, you even died a little on the inside.” She looks at me very confused. I look back with a straight face.

“Just cause someone’s body says otherwise doesn’t mean that its the only choice. Seeing how I am the only one you seem to have visited there must be a reason to it. I’m thinking its because you like me. I mean you did say that.”

She smiles “I knew I liked you for some reason. You remind me of the blacksmith.”

“Blacksmith? Not very specific. Plus I know no person thats a blacksmith. So I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t know a single thing you are going to say about this blacksmith.”

“This Blacksmith had tricked me into giving him more years to his life. He had received three wishes and used those wishes wisely. The first was a pear tree that captured and held people that climbed the tree till he said otherwise. The second was a chair that would do the same. The final was a bag the kept anything that was in it imprisoned.

His time had finally came and I went to go visit him. He offered me a pear and to be nice, being the fact I was about to take his life after all, I walked up to the tree and latched onto the it to get a fruit. The tree then latched on to me and I couldn’t be released. I continued to try to pull away and noticed it was pointless. He outsmarted me. He asked... well told me to give him four more guaranteed years of life. I agreed and he released me. I then went on my way.

I then came back after his years were over. While waiting for him to appear I sat down in a chair. I found myself trapped once again. He came in and asked for another four years. Knowing that I couldn’t get out without his permission I said yes immediately. I walked away and didn’t come back for another four years.

On the third visit, the smith tricked me into his bag, and then he beat the bag with a hammer until I promised to leave him alone. I agreed and never came back to him.

Surprisingly he went to the gates of hell to apologize. But no one had answered.”

“...Why didn’t you answer?”

“Who said I was the Devil?”
