“Random but sure. This place is starting to get eerie anyways.” Sly agree’s. “But going that far using my powers is dangerous for me. Coming here and bringing you guys tired me out for the rest of the day when we came here. Going that far from here could be kinda deadly.”
I take it into consideration and try to think of another plan. “How much energy would it take you to transport me and you to the top of this Canyon? Maybe we can find a car and come back for you to transport the other’s.” I suggest.
“You not knowing your powers is a real hindrance, you know.” Konan interjects.
“I don’t need you emphasizing that. I handled myself before I had powers -If I even have any- and I can handle myself now.” I snapped then calmed down and insisted that we get some weapons really soon. Everyone slowly agrees.
“I’ll go instead of you Cullin.” Lily announces.
“No I should go. I can probably supercharge a car to start. I’m more useful.”
“Brother, I’m not losing you again for one and all you can do is make Sparks not actual electricity so you're not much assistance either. I think Cullin should go. He constituted this plan so he should follow through. Plus all he has to do is rely on Sly if anything does happen.”
“I’m not going to rely on him for nothing except getting us out the cave. I can do stuff on my own too.”
“Sure whatever.”
I grab Sly. “Let’s go.” Sly and I start sinking into the shadow.
“We’ll be back” Sly reassures.
A minute later, we come out of a shadow behind a cactus. We look around and see that there is no civilization for miles. I guess we’re going to be walking for awhile.
“Let’s call the police.” Sly blurts out. I turn to him and wonder if he has a point. “We can say that some dudes tried to kill us and we got away. That way we can get a free ride to the nearest city.”
“Sly. I have two very simple questions. Depending on the first questions answer I’ll ask the second. If we call the police how are they going to pinpoint where we are?”
Sly looks at the ground and scratches the back of his head. “Don’t all phones have a GPS in them now and days? They can track down the signal and send out a helicopter.”
I look at him actually kinda pleased at his answer. But it still leads to my second question. “Great idea. Now on what phone are we going to call on?” He starts to check frantically for his phone. “The ambulance’s we were on weren’t regular ambulances. They had Defibrillators and other equipment that doesn’t go into a standard ambulance. I only noticed because Spark almost scared the medics to death caused one to hit their head on some stuff I never seen in an regular ambulance.”
Sly looks at me stunned by how much I know. “How many ambulances have you been in?” He questioned.
I look back at him and give a simple answer of “A lot.” He looks at me to see if he can figure out something but his gaze is instantly adverted to my backpack. “Damn it Cullin, you brought Spark?! His Brother is going to kill us!!”
