Veronica walked into her apartment and dropped her bag on the floor of her bedroom. She flopped on her bed and smiled. Holy shit, she has a date... with Robert! Dream come true.

It was 1:30 and she decided to start looking for something to wear. She realized that she had no idea where Robert was going to take her, so she didn't know what to wear. After about an hour, her bedroom was a sea of clothes and shoes.

"fuck! I need to find an outfit!" She yelled to nobody. Veronica heaved herself off the floor and walked into the living room to grab her wallet and keys and headed out the door.

She arrived at the mall and walked over to the directory, looking for Forever 21, knowing that she would find something that was cute and kind of dressy but could also be dressed down. As soon as she walked in, she saw the cutest skirt. It was a shorter yellow skirt that was also overalls. She immediately grabbed it and tried it on, finding that it fit perfectly. Now she just needed to find a shirt to go under it. After a few minutes of browsing, she found a black short sleeved shirt that had a white collar and fake perl buttons. Veronica was in love with the outfit so she purchased it and headed home.

By the time she got home, it was 3:00. She had 3 hours to get ready. She laid her outfit down on her bed and walked over to her closet to grab her black low-top converse. They were set next to her outfit and then Veronica went to get in the shower, again.

She got in and out of the shower and put on her robe. Her hair, she decided was going to be curled. Nothing too crazy. Her makeup was going to be simple. Muted smokey eye with a black wing and a nude lip. Veronica walked into the bathroom and started on her hair, taking the time to make sure it was prefect. Everything needed to be perfect. She needed this to go well because she really liked Robert. Even though they had only known each other for a day, she thought he was really sweet.

Veronica continued to get herself ready. Before she knew it, the time was 5:55 and she was starting to get really nervous. What if he decided that he didn't like her? What if he wasn't the person she thought he might be? So many thoughts were running through her head. The door bell ringing brought her out of her frantic thoughts. She ran to the door and took a second to compose herself before opening the door.

Robert stood on the other side, wearing a gray sweater over a plain white t-shirt and black jeans. His hair was perfectly done and he looked amazing. He held out a bouquet of red roses to his date.

"Wow." He said. "You look..."

"Should I change? Is this going to be ok? I have couple of dressier outfits if-"

"No! You look amazing! I just couldn't find the right word." She looked down and smiled.

"Thank you. You look pretty damn good yourself. I like the sweater"

"oh thanks. Well are you ready to go?"

"um yeah. I just have to grab my shoes. Why don't you come in for a second."

"Sure." He stepped in the door. "This is a cute place!"

"Thank you!" She yelled from the bedroom. "I bought it about 3 months ago. I'm trying to put down roots and Chicago wasn't doing much for me." Veronica walked out of her room wearing her converse and a black sweater.

"You lived in Chicago?"

"Yeah. Downtown, like a block away from the Chicago Theater. That's where I did most of my shows."

"That's really amazing! I would love to see something that you're in!"

"Really?"

"Of course!" Robert reached for her hand and held it in his own. "Well, are you ready to head out?"
