Chapter 8

"Are you excited?" Robert asked her over the phone. He was on a break between his clients.

"Of course. I'm also super nervous."

"I'm sure. But it's going to be ok. You're a rockstar that has an amazing boyfriend who loves you."

"I love you too babe. Oh I have to go, they're calling me."

"Ok. Have fun! I'll see you when I get home tonight."

"Ok. See you tonight!" She hung up the phone and ran up to Ben's office.

"Veronica. How are you?"

"I'm great!"

"Perfect! OK so, let's go over the contract. We are planning to have you open on June 21st 2020. Does that work for you?"

"absolutely!"

"Awesome. Ok so do you have any date conflicts?"

"Not that I am aware of."

"Ok. If anything comes up, you can always let me know and we can talk it over. Sound good?"

"Yep!"

"Alright then!" He grabbed the contracts off of his desk and put them in front of her. "So here's the contract. I know you've seen these before and I can assure you that it's nothing different than the other ones you've signed."

"I'm sure."

"So just sign here and here and you'll be all set! Then we can take you on a tour and show introduce you to everyone! We'll also discuss your rehearsal schedule."

"Sounds good."

She signed the paperwork and then they went on the tour. She had a shared dressing room with all three of the Heathers. It was bright white and very cheery. Nobody was in there so he led you down to the stage where everyone had gathered for rehearsal.

"Hello everyone! I would like to introduce you to our new Veronica. Now I know this is going to sound weird but I promise you that this is her name. Guys this is Veronica Sawyer." Veronica started laughing and everyone cheered.

"Hello everyone! I'm so excited to be here!" There was a chorus of hellos from the rest of the cast. Everyone said their names handshakes were exchanged. She stayed and talked to everyone for another 15 minutes before she decided to head out.

"Ok guys! I'll see you all tomorrow then!" Again, everyone yelled out their goodbyes. Veronica packed up her things and went home. She pulled into the drive way and noticed that Robert's car was there and there was another car that she didn't recognized parked behind him. After she pulled into the garage, she got out and locked her car before walking in the house.

"Babe?!" She yelled from the living room. Robert came out of the kitchen drying off a glass.

"Hi!" He said with a beaming smile.

"What are you doing home?" She asked.

"My last two clients canceled so I decided that I was going to come home and make some dinner for you."

"Who else is here?"

"Jon. He's an amazing cook so he's helping me out. I was trying to surprise you."

"Hi Veronica!" Jon yelled from the kitchen. Veronica grabbed Robert's hand and they walked into the kitchen.

"Hi Jon. Hows it going?"

"Oh you know. Just trying to help a friend out."

"That's nice of you."

"Yeah well."
