Chapter 19

**time skip- October 30th 2020- the day before the first wedding**

Veronica and Robert sat on the couch watching a movie on their last night as a non married couple. They decided to sleep in different houses tonight to keep with the tradition of the groom not seeing the bride before the wedding. Robert was staying with Jon and Veronica was staying at the house. The families were staying at a hotel not too far from the house.

"Ok babe. I'm getting pretty tired so I'm gonna head over to Jon's."

"Do you have to go?"

"Yes ma'am."

"Alright. Well I love you."

"I love you too Mrs. Manion."

"Not yet babe. Not until tomorrow."

"I know. It's just fun to say." He kissed Veronica and stood up. Veronica stood up and streched. Her baby bump was more noticeable as she was about 4 months pregnant.

"I'm gonna miss you."

"Me too love. But I'll see you at the courthouse tomorrow morning."

"I can't wait." Robert smiled and kissed her again and then walked into the bedroom to get his bag. "If you need anything please call me. If I have to I'll send Jon over here."

"I'll be fine honey. Go hang out with your friend. I'll see you tomorrow morning." She shooed Robert out of the house. Once he was gone, Veronica walked into the very unfinished nursery and pulled out her dress. She brought it into the bedroom and hung it on the back of the bedroom door. The rest of the night passed uneventfully. She took a shower and then got into bed.

The next morning, She got up bright and early and got dressed. She had a hair appointment at 8:30 and then she was getting married at 10:30. Veronica couldn't contain her excitement. Today was the day she had been waiting for. She was marrying her best friend, the father of her unborn child and the love of her life.

Veronica walked into the hair salon and gave the stylist a simple hairstyle to do. It was a simple vintage ponytail with swooped bangs. It didn't take too long for it to be done. She was finished at 9:30. It was just enough time for her to get to the hotel that her family was at and get dressed, then get to the courthouse. She drove to the hotel, grabbed her dress out of the backseat and then went up to her mom's room where her mom, her sister, and Roberts mom and sisters were already waiting. They were all dressed and ready to help her get ready.

"Hi everyone!" Veronica greeted the room.

"Oh my baby girl is getting married!"

"Mooom. Stop!"

"I'm excited for you!"

"Well we can be excited later. I have to be there in like 20 minutes."

"Right."

Veronica pulled out the dress and slipped it on. Addie was behind her and zipped it up.

"Veronica, love you look amazing in that dress. Robert is going to love it." Deb said

"Look at you! You're glowing!"

"Thanks Luc."

"Alright everyone! Are we ready to go? The car is waiting downstairs." Melinda said after she checked her phone. The group headed out of the room and down to the waiting limo. They piled in and off they went to meet Robert and Jon at the courthouse. Jon was acting as Rob's "best man" even though it wasn't an actual wedding ceremony. He was really just there to keep Robert calm while they waited. At 10:04, Veronica ran into the courthouse with the family in tow.  She spotted Robert at the end of the hallway talking to Jon. His back was turned to her. As she approached Jon spotted her and smiled widely. Robert slowly turned around and immediately got choked up. He walked towards her and grabbed her hand when he got close enough.
