Chapter 10

*time skip 2 months months*

"BABE! Are you home?" Veronica yelled as she walked in the front door. She was coming home from Heathers rehearsals.

"Kitchen!" Robert responded. She ran into the kitchen and jumped on her fiancé's back. "Guess who got the final ok to go to announce our surprise!"

"Oh really?"

"yessir. Ben told me that he was ok with me leaving anytime before the beginning of June" She climbed off of Robert's back and sat at the kitchen island, watching him do the dishes.

"sweet! So go call your mom and ask her when a good time fo you to go over there. We'll spend a week over there, and then a week by my mom's right?"

"Yep!"

"cool."

"Are you ok?"

"Yeah why?"

"You seem a little peeved."

"I am. But not at you."

"What's going on?"

"Work."

"Wanna talk about it?"

"Maybe later?"

"Ok. Well, I'm gonna go call my mom. I love you." Robert walked around the island and hugged Veronica and gave her a kiss.

"I love you too. I'm sorry I'm not very fun right now."

"It's ok! It happens sometimes." She jumped off the seat and gave Robert a hug before walking away. She dialed her mom and sat on the bed.

"Hi sweetie!"

"Hi mom! How are you?"

"I'm good. Your sister and I went to see your dad today."

"oh yeah?"

"Yeah."

"Are you feeling any better?"

"Yes. But I miss him everyday."

"Me too mom. Especially now."

"I know honey. I'm sure he would love to be able to see you on stage."

"It's going to be ok though. You and Addie will be there right?"

"Wouldn't miss is for the world. We'll be right there in the front row."

"That makes me happy. So listen, I called because, I'm going to be heading that way for a week. Is there a time that would work for you for me and a friend to stay for the week?"

"You're coming to Chicago?!"

"Yeah."

"I'm ok with any time! Just let me know at least 2 weeks in advance so that I can take some time off of work!"

"I will!"

"So who is your friend?"

"His name is Robert."

"Oh?"

"Mom, no. Don't go there. You know I don't date."

"I know honey. So tell me about this Robert"

"Well, he's Australian and he's my personal trainer."

"That's nice. Well I can't wait to meet him."

"He's excited to meet you too. But listen, I should go, I have an early rehearsal tomorrow."

"Ok honey. Thank you for calling."
