A week later, the young couple was standing at the entrance to O'Hare airport in Chicago. They were leaving Veronica's family to go to Robert's family in Tasmania.
"Please be safe."
"Mom we'll be fine. I'll be there with someone who grew up there. He won't let anything happen to me."
"We'll be fine Melinda."
"Ok. Well I love you both. We'll see you two for the opening of the show."
"You really don't have to come mom."
"Oh hush. You know I wouldn't miss it."
"I'll miss you guys." Addie said. There were small tears rolling down her cheeks.
"We'll miss you too kid. We'll see each other in a few weeks."
"I know. But it was nice having you around the house again." She started to cry a little more.
"Oh Addie. I miss you too. Maybe we can work something out and you can come visit this summer."
"Really? The would be so dope!"
"It would. I love you kid. Be good ok?"
"OK. Have fun in Australia."
"We will." Veronica and Addie hugged for a little bit before Robert stepped in and hugged the younger Sawyer sister. He then hugged Melinda and grabbed Ronnie's hand.
"We gotta get going. Thank you for everything this week."
"It's no problem honey. You are welcome with us anytime."
"I appreciate that."
"Bye!" The pair turned away and started walking to the security check. Ronnie turned around and waved to her family one more time. She was sad to be leaving but she was really happy that she was able to get home to see them.
"So do you think we could have my sister stay the summer?"
"Maybe not the whole summer? But it would be great to have her around for a while."
"Maybe half the summer. She could come with my mom for the show and then stay until the end of July?"
"That would be perfect."
A day later, an exhausted Veronica and Robert stepped off the plane in Tasmania.
"It's so weird to be back here."
"I'm sure it is. When were you here last?"
"Um, last January? I don't even remember."
"We need to make it a point to come here more after this. Unless they don't like me, then I'll make it a point to send you here more."
"They'll love you."
"You think?"
"I know. But before we see them, there's something I need to tell you."
"Whats up?"
"I told my mom that I was seeing someone. She would never have bought that we were just friends."
"That's cool."
They walked to the baggage claim are and saw a sign that said their names on it. It was being held by a woman who Veronica could only guess to be one of Robert's sisters. When she caught sight of them, she started frantically waving and crying.
"Oh my boy!"
"Mum!"
"I'm so happy you're home! I missed you!"
