We gathered around the dining table, which was adorned with a variety of delectable treats - pasta, pizzas, burgers, French fries, and refreshing orange juice. The four of us - Rishab, Manan, Harsh, and I - were seated in our designated spots. Rishab sat beside me, while Manan and Harsh occupied the seats opposite to us.
Harsh interrupted our silence by asking, "What did the bread say to the melted cheese?" No one understood what he meant. "For you to shut up? Yea, probably that." Manan replied nonchalantly, taking a sip of his juice.
Harsh, who never fails to amuse us with his hilarious comebacks, responded, "You seriously want me to pull my shirt up? I didn't know you were gay, you should have told me earlier. My inner bi was dying to get into your pants from so long!" Manan was taken aback and spat out his juice in shock. Meanwhile, Rishab and I laughed at Harsh's wit. Manan choked on his juice and said "You think I'm gay? More like you're the one throwing rainbow-colored sparks!"
Harsh, undeterred by our reactions, repeated his question, "So, I'll ask again, what did the bread say to the melted cheese?"
This time, Manan kept quiet, probably sensing that it was futile to one-up Harsh's wit. I, on the other hand, tried my luck and said, "Um...say melted cheese rather than cheese?" I burst out laughing at my own lame attempt at humor.
"That was so damn lame," Rishab commented, joining in the laughter.
But Harsh wasn't done yet. He quipped, "No, your answer is wrong, Vedika. I am quite fondue you!" All of us laughed hysterically, except for Manan, who had no idea what the joke meant.
"Where did you find this joke, Harsh?" I inquired, still trying to catch my breath.
"My awesome brain," he replied with a grin, which only made us laugh harder. It was moments like these that made me grateful for my crazy group of friends, who never failed to bring a smile to my face with their humor and wit.
