After finishing our meal, Manan cleared his throat and said, "Vedika, we need to talk about something important." I could sense the gravity of the situation in his tone and instantly felt a knot form in my stomach.
I replied, "Can it wait for tomorrow? I'm really tired from all the wedding preparations, and I need to get some rest."
They all exchanged a look, and Rishab spoke up, "It's really urgent, Vedika. We can't wait until tomorrow to discuss this with you."
"Please?" They sigh and nod their heads.
Feeling a sense of unease, I reluctantly agreed to hear them out tomorrow. As I walked back to my room, my mind was racing with all kinds of possibilities about what they could possibly want to tell me. Were they planning some kind of surprise for me? Or was there some sort of emergency?
I bid them goodnight and collapsed onto my bed, exhausted from the day's events. As I closed my eyes, I tried to push away all the thoughts swirling in my head and focus on getting some much-needed rest.
Eventually, I drifted off into a deep sleep, my mind finally at peace for the first time in days.
