Chapter 1

"Aaliyah wake up, time to get up for your last day of the senior year" shouted my mother for the third time this morning."

"Okay, I'm up now!" I shouted back.

" I made some breakfast for you and your sister before heading off to work."

"I hope you guys have a great last day, love you"! She announced as she rushed down the stairs and hurried out the door.

"Yay for school". I groaned sarcastically as I was looking for my alarm clock knocking it off my stand.

"Go Lions!"

I sat up to check my phone Just to see that I had received 30 calls and texts from my ex-boyfriend Caymen. I placed my phone down and proceeded to ignore the messages like I've been doing lately whenever he had texted me.

"Hey Aaliyah, I need to talk to you please text me back!"

" I said I was sorry damn!"

"Can I still come to pick you up after school so we can talk?"

He had been apologizing to me a lot lately after he had recently found out that I knew about him cheating on me with some girl from his school last year. Turns out they had been involved with each other for months and I didn't even know. After finding out I made sure we broke up Immediately and since then I haven't had any intentions to rebuild our relationship. In our relationship, we argued all the time. I guess part of the reason was that he was older than me, so he thought he knew what was always better for me. We had been together for three years on and off. He was the first guy I had fallen for hard and the first guy I had ever sexually connected with. We both knew at times we shouldn't have been together, but we couldn't stay away from each other. You can say that made our relationship extremely toxic. Relationships are usually perfect at the beginning though right?

"Hey, Aaliyah, are you going to start getting ready for school?"

"You know you shouldn't be late on the last day" shouted my little sister Alexis while peeking her head through my door. She turned back around and evacuated my room.

"Yeah I'm coming, Jasmine said she was practically here" I shouted while looking in the mirror throwing my hair in a perfect messy bun.

My sister Alexis was two years younger than me. So today was her last day also as a Sophomore at Blankwood Heights High School. Alexis was always shy and quiet. She was also really smart for her age. A's were no problem for her because she loved school and she enjoyed being there every day. She had many friends though most people thought of her as condescending even though that was not even the case. Many say we looked alike, but I guess you could say we had two completely different personalities.
