Chapter 13

THE NEXT DAY

"morning maman" Marinette greeted giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"morning sweetie. are you...are you going to school today?" she asked. Marinette nodded

"are you sure. you headmaster did say it was fine if you stayed home for a while after everything that happen-" Marinette stopped her mother.

"i'll be fine don't worry about me. I've survived this far and i'm not going to let yesterday's incident stop me from seeing my friends today" she replied with a smile. Sabine smiled and nodded and allowed her daughter to leave.

when Marinette stepped out the door she saw Chloe leaning against the window checking her nails.

"oh good you are coming to school today. i thought that i was gonna have to deal with those losers all day on my own" Marinette chuckled

"whatever happened with you and Sabrina?" she asked

"well she thought that Lila's stories were so interesting. plus when i tried to tell her that Lila's was full of crappy lies, well. she didn't believe me. we just stopped talking all together" she sighed. she looked up at Marinette and saw the pity in her eyes.

"oh don't feel bad. it's not that big of deal. i'm over it. now c'mon. i'll bet you'll be getting a lot of stares today."

"what. like everyday?" Marinette chuckled.

"they'll be begging you for forgiveness y'know" Chloe stated. Marinette just sighed.

"well. they shouldn't just expect me to be all happy and forgive them then"

WHEN THEY ARRIVED AT SCHOOL

Marinette and Chloe both walked into class and when they did all the chatter that was going on stopped. even the teacher stopped talking. Marinette noticed the empty spot next to Alya. she also noticed the somewhat pleading look in her eyes for her to sit with her again. she ignored it and went to sit at the back with Chloe.

Alya POV

ugh. of course she wasn't going to sit with me again. what could I have possibly expected when i was so horrible to her. now she has Chloe as her best friend...maybe...maybe if i apologise and ask for forgiveness, we could be friends again? 

Later

Chloe and Marinette were sitting on the stairs and they noticed Alya, Nino and Adrien walking over to them.

"oh look. the terrible three" Chloe mocked

"hey your one to talk. your terrible to people!" Nino shot back

"well that's false since i haven't bothered any of you losers for the past few weeks now have I?" she fired back with a smirk. "what do you want anyway. can't you see we're like, in the middle of a conversation?"

"we're actually here to talk to Marinette" said Adrien. Chloe was about to say something else but Marinette p;aced a hand on her shoulder shaking her head telling her not to bother.

"it's fine" she said standing up. I'll talk to them. now make it quick. like Chloe said, we were in the middle of a chat. the three nodded and they walked to the top of the stairs while Chloe decided to just stay put and go on her phone.

"so. what would you three like top talk about?" Marinette asked

"w-well. we saw the news of what happened yesterday including the bit with Lila and-" Alya was cut of by Marinette's chuckle

"let me guess. your here because you want to say sorry. want my forgiveness and wanna be besties again?"

"well...yes" Adrien replied. Marinette just scoffed and rolled her eyes.

"I'm not sure what world your living in but that's not how this is gonna work. just yesterday you guys thought i got one of my friends to beat up Lila. when you guys finally find out the truth you want to come to me with a simple apology and think that things will go back to normal?"

"well-"

"save it! you three out of everyone were meant to stick by my side. you guys, especially you Adrien, know that Lila has lies before! but no, you had to believe her yet i was meant to be your best friends. you guys replaced me with her. you believed her over me. after everything I've bloody done for you guys. Chloe came to me cause she didn't believe any of the crap that Lila was telling everyone. she was the last person on Earth that I'd think would stay by my side and actually become my friend. better than what I'd expected. you guys hurt me physically and emotionally. Alya you destroyed my sketchbook. something i'd held onto since i was young. you think i'll just forgive you just like that?" she said, tone deeper than normal. she waited for a moment. waited to see of they would say anything else. they wouldn't. they couldn't. because she was right, and they knew it.

"well. i guess this talk is over" she said as she walked away back to Chloe.

"so. how'd that go?" she asked.

"i just spoke my mind. as i thought, they wanted to apologise" she chuckled.

"would you want to be friends with them again?" Chloe suddenly asked looking down. Marinette tensed a little. sure she missed them but to be friends with them again?

"Not at the moment. maybe we'll become civil again at some point but for now...they need to deal with the consequences of their actions." she replied

"good. i thought you'd leave me for them. wow! never thought i'd say that" Chloe giggled.

"no" Marinette laughed."I'm not like that"

MEANWHILE

"well that went well" Alya sighed. "Although she is right. how could we think she'd just forgive us straight away. we were so stupid"

"hey. i'm sure she'll come around." Nino said comforting the girl. Alya wanted to believe her boyfriends words but wasn't entirely sure.

"well while we're waiting for her to come around, i'll just be here feeling like crap. i mean i totally deserve to. we all do" she muttered removing Nino's shoulder and began to walk off to find some of the other girls.

"you think she'll be alright?" Adrien asked. Nino shook his head. "doubt her or any of the girls are gonna get over this for a while more than us to be honest"
