As I opened my eyes I still panic even though its just a dream.  Why was my past being played out in my dreams?

What's wrong, are you okay?  I hear fang asking me as I start to calm down

"I'm fine, just a nightmare."  I say. Then i realize that i am on the floor.  Why am i not in the bed, I thought.  Then i remembered, chris.  It wasn't light out yet, but i stood up anyway.  I had work to get done.  As I headed out the door, I couldn't help but look back.  Fang might have been right. I thought, but quickly shook the thought out of my head.

I was given a break from thinking about it by working, concemtrating solely on fixing a pick axe for finding some ore as there is plenty not far away from my house.

I hear the scream of a desert-lion, a creature about four feet tall on all four legs and a head that is elongated with razor sharp teeth.  The teeth are not what you should worry about, the tail is more dangerous part, with a stinger filled with incredibly deadly poison.  Combine that with its sleek body ment for speed and there are two words that come to mind, I'm screwed.

I heard it walking up behind the house.  As it rounded the corner, it spotted me and let out a low growl.  The desertlion ran at at full speed, i reached for my revolver an my fingers wrapped around... nothing. I didn't bring my guns outside and it was a hundred yard sprint to get back to them, right by the desert-lion.
