Fang's howl rang out loud and clear over the sound of shattering wood. I could only watch in wonder as she sailed right over my head and in front of the beast. she let out a low warning growl then attacked. She slashed and bit at the beast but to no avail, the beast returned her punishment and then some.
Run! I heard her scream. I can not take this beast on my own!
I ran as fast as I possibly could to the house. As I rushed through the door Cris got startled and dropped a pan that she was working with.
"What's wrong?" She asked frantically.
"Just stay inside!" I shouted over my shoulder to her as I was running back out the door, gun in hand.
As I stepped into the sunlight, what i saw engulfed me in rage. Fang was laying on the ground, struggling to stand up. Her right side was sliced open, blood pouring everywhere. I stopped thinking. I charged toward the beast, a cry of primal rage coming from my mouth.
When i got to the beast, I jumped on its back, unsheathed my hunting knife and got ready to stab.
"Go to hell!" I growled as I sheathed the knife deep into the back of the creature's skull. The creature let out a sharp cry of pain which i quickly put an end to by stabbing again.
I thought that would have been the end of our problems, at least for a while buti was wrong, oh so wrong. Because, out of theshadows stepped three sand-devils lean creatures about the size of a large dog with a long tail yhat had a poisonous stinger on the end, these creatures are extremely fast. The bites, even though they have extremely large and sharp teeth and can easily tear out huge chunk of flesh, are not what you need to worry about, the sting of thier tail is what you need to worry about. If they sting you, you will most likely die, unless you are given the antidote within five minutes you will die.
Realising that, in my fit of rage, I had dropped my guns about twenty feet to my right I turned but was already too late, one of the beasts jumped at me and sank its teeth into my shoulder and another one bit into my side. I fell to the ground and closed my eyes, waiting for the sting, but it never came. I opened my eyes just in time to hear three sharp cracks, and watch as the three creatures' heads exploded.
the monsters fell limp and released thier hold on me. I looked up into the face of a man of about twenty as my vision started to blur and fade to black i heard him talk.
"Well, if it isn'n Jack. Long time no see." he said. Then i blacked out.
