Just read this joke and had to convert it. Super super short but fun :)

"-and you need to make sure you're actually reading the notes Percy, not just staring at the paper, okay?"

Annabeth had been lecturing for a long time. Percy had gotten a less than desirable grade in his English class- a class he desperately needed to pass if he wanted to graduate. It wasn't that he hadn't studied or prepared. He had, for longer than he was willing to admit. But the test was in some weird font that made it hard to read, which probably still would have been fine if the teacher hadn't put his testing seat near the window, where he could clearly see the courtyard where kids went for lunch and free periods. All he'd been able to focus on was the movement of people back and forth, and the occasional bird or squirrel that ran by.

He'd explained this to Annabeth. It had worked, for a moment, until she considered that he could have just reminded the teacher of his ADHD to be relocated.

He thought the teacher should have thought it through, but arguing with Annabeth was fruitless.

Percy tuned back into her words. "-you need to pass this class, or we're not going to be able to go to New Rome together, and-"

There was an ant crawling along the windowsill. The demigod wondered where it was going, where it had come from. How did it get inside? Did he have friends wandering throughout his room that he should watch out for?

"Percy, are you even listening to me? Have you heard a single word I just said?"

Annabeth's voice was incredulous and upset. He sighed against his arms, figuring he should be smart and just say yes but, as his current grades reflected, he'd rather just do something dumb.

"That's a funny way to start a conversation," he mumbled, eyes closed.

It was as though she was burning holes into his back. He was just surprised she didn't slap him. "What?" she asked lowly.

"I said, that's a funny way to start a conversation," he clarified at an audible level, turning around in the chair to meet her eyes.

Mistake number two, that was. Her gray eyes were dark, expression calm.

"Percy," she said evenly, which somehow worried him more than her nagging earlier.

He forced a cheeky smile. "Annabeth, love of my life?"

Her lips turned up in return, but in a sinister kind of way that sent a deep chill down his back. "Because I love you, I'm going to give you a head start of five seconds before I try and kill you."

He didn't need to be told twice. He scrambled up out of his chair with newfound energy before blasting out of his room, nearly barreling into his mother. His sneakers squealed against the linoleum when he rerouted his momentum.

"Percy, what the hell?" she shouted, hands flying up to her heart in surprise.

"Sorry, mom!" he called over his shoulder. "Annabeth's going to kill me!"

Sally rolled her eyes, but he had already disappeared out the front door. Annabeth walked out of the room looking as though she had all the time in the world.

She met Mrs. Jackson-Blofis' stare, who sighed. "He went out the front," she offered. "Go easy on him, sweetheart. He needs to be in good enough shape to at least eat dinner tonight."

"No promises," Annabeth joked, both women knowing full well she'd never hurt him. Seriously, that was.

The blonde had her hand on the doorknob when Sally called out to her. "He hides in that little park behind the complex," she offered. "In that little cluster of trees."

The demigod grinned. "You're the best, Sally," she complimented with gratitude before taking off in a jog after her boyfriend.

:

Sure enough, she found him behind a tree.

He tried to run for it when he realized he'd been found, but Annabeth had always been faster. She jumped and tackled him. They hit the ground hard, causing him to squeak out in pain. She felt a little guilty about it, but still wrestled him until she had him pinned on his back.

His eyes were wide. "Please don't kill me," he begged.

She gripped his forearms firmly, smiling sweetly. "Give me one reason not to."

"Uh... I love you? I'm fun and lovable? You love me? Uh, I'll make you cookies tonight?"

"I said one," she chided before leaning in.

He closed his eyes. She hovered above his lips. "You're going to pay for that comment, Percy Jackson."

"I can give you five bucks," he snarked.

"You're insufferable," she shook her head.

"You love me."

She did, and kissed him to prove it.

Short and sweet and kinda thrown together but it's really just for the sass so 😂 wishing you all the best!
