Chapter Sixteen I'm Done Running

Dallas' POV

"She's been asleep for over 22 hours." Leon says but Blake and I just send him a look.

      "After what you did I think you should remain quiet and not complain. We're lucky she's still alive because of you." Blake says.

"I'm sure if you had to run for fifteen days that you'd sleep for a while too." I say. It had been a while but she needed to sleep. Right?

"Dallas is right." Gina says walking up from behind us. "Her body needs to catch up. Rest. She needs to heal and from what I've heard about her and seen in the past-" she gives me a look, "the only way she'll stay out of getting hurt is if she's asleep so what we need to do is hope she sleeps for as long as possible. She needs time."

"What if we don't have time? She knows where my brother is and where Selene is. She's our only way to find them."

"You won't find them if she's dead." Gina says. I look around the lobby of the hospital seeing it was just me, Blake, Leon, Gina, Aiden, Eddie, and Archer. Rocco was watching her in case she woke up but as for Wesley and Ryder's father, I had no clue where they were.

"Do you know where her father is?" I whisper into Blake's ear.

      "I haven't seen him. We've called him but he's not answering his phone."

     "Does he know we have her?" Blake shakes her head and I take a breath before looking down the hall where her room was. I didn't want to leave her, but she needed her father more than she needed me. The choice was between whether to stay here and be here when she wakes up, or leave and go find her father so he can. A hand gives my shoulder a squeeze and I look to see Blake.

      "You should stay here. I'll go find him." I nod as she looks to Aiden. "Aiden." She nods toward the door and looks to Leon. "You can come too. Unless you want to stay with Dallas." My eyes harden to a glare when his eyes meet mine and he shakes his head.

     "I think I'll come with you. It's not because I'm scared of you." He says pointing at me. "I'm not scared of you. I just know you're angry and I don't want to be thrown against a wall or punched in the face today."

     "You think I won't do that?" Blake asks with raised eyebrows. "It wasn't just him you pissed off by doing what you did."

      "You know, I think I'll just go to the cafeteria for a little bit." Leon says nodding, then walking away causing Blake to chuckle when he was out of view and I look to her.

     "I know you're mad at him and you have every right to be. But I understand why he did it. He doesn't know Ryder like you. No one does. He was looking for his brother and she's the only one who knows where he is. I'm not saying I would do it, but I would have thought about it. If it was Selene that escaped, wouldn't you?" Taking a deep breath I nod. I would have thought about it. I would have done anything to find her. And now that I have her I don't want to let her go.

     "I do understand." I say. "But that doesn't make me any less mad at him." She nods and pats my shoulder before heading away with Aiden leaving Eddie, Archer and me. Gina must've walked away when we weren't looking.

     "Do you think she knows where they are?" Eddie asks bringing my attention to him. "Think about it. She ran. She probably wasn't doing good to memorize where she was running to or from. Maybe she doesn't know where they are." That is a possibility but a possibility I didn't want to think about. We did need to find the others but she needed to be okay too.

     "I'm gonna go check on Rocco." I say as they both nod and I head in their direction. Rocco and Ryder's. I wanted to check on Ryder but Rocco needed to be checked on too. Walking into the room I find Rocco asleep in a chair against the wall. I was about to get annoyed when something hits me in the face and I look down seeing a small paper ball. I slowly look up to see Ryder pursing her lips together and looking away.
