Bottom of the river- Delta Rae

The man squats down in front of me laying his gun across his knees. "You must be Ryder." He says taking the light away from my eyes and turning it off. He looks in the direction the men went and his smirk slightly grows. "You almost got away. Almost." The man was too close for my liking but it's not like what I liked mattered to him anyway. He takes his hand from the gun and reaches for me making me turn away as he grabs a piece of my hair and twirls it around in his fingers. "You know, they don't have to find you." My eyes go to his but I remain quiet. This had to be a trick.

"At least for now they don't." He chuckles letting the piece of hair he had drop. It clicked almost immediately. He had intentions for me. Bad intentions.

"He'll kill you." I say. I didn't want to use Dane as protection but it was true. He would.

"Well that's why we're not gonna tell him. You're gonna stay quiet."

"Sorry, being quiet isn't my specialty." I growl out but he just smiles more.

"Well that's just too bad." He starts to move and I quickly open my mouth letting out a scream which I didn't know was stupid or smart but the man quickly puts a hand over my mouth cutting it off just as soon as it started. "Now listen," he growls. "you're going to stay quiet. Even though Dane said not to hurt you I will not hesitate to make an exception. You understand?" I did but that didn't mean I was afraid of him. I've been hurt before. I'm already hurting. What's a little more pain? "The more you fight the longer it will take." He laughs. "So give it your best." Oh you better believe I will.

I bring my leg up and kick him hard in the chest knocking him back before I stumble to my feet. "You little bitch." He growls quickly getting up as I run but he tackles me to the ground and we fight. I struggle to get him off me but he was really heavy. "You're weak." He says but I keep fighting him. I wasn't going to stop fighting. I bring my knee up hard kneeing him between the legs and I roll out from under him and onto my back again. He stands again as I crawl backwards away from him. I didn't feel like I could fight anymore. Me fighting him was taking away all the strength I had left but I knew that if he touched me I'd lose everything I had.

"Why keep fighting?" He asks walking towards me as I keep crawling backwards but he grabs my legs and pulls me to him. "You'll lose in the end either way." He grunts as I kick him again but he pins my legs down with his knee. He was breathing heavy now but acting like it didn't bother him. He pins my hands above my head and stares into my eyes. "I tried to warn you but you didn't listen." He takes one hand off letting it go to his belt as I heard myself let out a whimper. I was scared whether I wanted to admit it or not. Just as his belt became loose a gun shot echoed around and blood splattered all over me.

Then the man on me fell against me but he was limp. He was dead. Frozen by shock I snap out of it and do my best to crawl out from under neath him. I got half way out when someone from behind grabs me and pulls me the rest of the way. I was turned around and held tightly like whoever holding me was scared to let me go. "Shh." The voice says. "You're okay now. He's not gonna hurt you." Dane. My body tenses as he runs his hand through my hair. He pulls back letting me look at him even through I never wanted to see him again. "Did he hurt you? Are you okay?"

     "You're sick." I say softly.

     "I saved you."

"Oh is that supposed to make up for everything you've put me through?" I push him away from me and step back.

"Just come back with me. Everything's gonna be alright."

"No." I shake my head and step back again.
