Deserters

The First Kill

It's been 4 months since Alex's training began. He's in the best physical shape he's ever been in and can fight like a true warrior. He's not the best, but he's pretty good. Alex had made a few friends, but most avoided him because he was marked as honorless. This was about to cause him a big problem.

Oscar Henderson was a huge man. He looked like he could kill a man without even thinking about it. Although, everyone knows he's in infantry because he's dumber than housefly. He lost a pair of his socks, but he was convinced that someone stole them. Alex being honorless, Henderson immediately was convinced it was Alex who stole them. He went up to Alex and started screaming and when Alex said he didn't steal his socks, Henderson responded by spearing him to the ground. At that moment, Velator and his guards rushed in and pinned The two men to the ground.

"If you two want to fight, you're not going to do it here! Take them to the pit!"

Alex and Henderson were thrown into the pit on opposite ends. Velator said, "If you two wanna fight so bad, here's your chance!"

Alex didn't want to fight by any means. Henderson was almost twice his size. But he had no choice. He took one step forward but was bull rushed by Henderson. He speared Alex to the ground and started whaling on his face. Alex finally got one good punch in and hit Henderson right in the throat. When he rolled off Alex onto his hands and knees, Alex stood up and full forced kicked him in his stomach, making Henderson fall onto his back. After that, Alex kicked him the the side a couple times and started to walk away. Velator and his guards wouldn't let him leave. Alex suddenly realized this was a fight to the death.

Before Alex could even turn around, he was being picked up and was flying through the air. He landed on his his back. Next thing he knew, Henderson was back on top of him, punching him in the face and then wrapping both his hands around Alex's neck and pushing down. Alex was gasping for air and starting to black out. Then he heard Henderson start to speak.

"Man, after I kill you and graduate, I'm going home and I'm gonna get with your prostitute sister and..."

He soon couldn't even talk. Alex had wrapped his hands around Henderson's neck. Alex proceeded to smash his fist into the back of Henderson's elbow, forcing him to release his grip. Alex then grabbed his collar and headbutt Henderson off him. Henderson was once again on his hands and knees, but this time, Alex got up, walked around to the front of him, and kicked Henderson in the face, snapping his head back and sending him onto his back. Alex got onto of him and started to relentlessly throw punch after punch into his face. He broke Henderson' nose and knocked out teeth and delivered the last one into his throat. Henderson was laying on the ground, he was bleeding from one eye and could barley see out of the other. Blood was pouring out from his nose and his mouth. He thought it was over, but next thing he knew, his was sitting up and Alex's arm was wrapped around his throat. Alex squeezed as hard as he could, forcing more blood to come out of Henderson's mouth. Then right before he black out, Alex snapped his neck without hesitation, and his body fell to the ground.

Alex stood up. His nose was bleeding and his eye was swollen. His hands were covered in blood and so was his shirt. Guards ran to the body and made sure he was dead. It was pouring outside so they just left the body for now. Alex walked up to the exit and Velator was waiting there. Velator looked Alex in the eyes and smirked.

"Hmph. I just might make a soldier out of you yet. Go clean yourself up."

Alex walked back to the barracks and went into the shower. He stood in there just letting the water run down his body. He thought about what had happened for hours before he finally fell asleep. He didn't think that's what his first kill was going to be like, and it bothered him inside.
