Escape

Alex slowly started to open his eyes a few days later. It hurt to move from being so motionless for so long. He inhaled and his eyes shot open and he immediately wanted to vomit at the stench of so many decaying bodies. He looked around slightly horrified. He felt something in his pocket. He pulled it out and unfolded the paper. It was a map with his location on it. And the borders connecting Lunarville and Maximilian's territory. Alex reached in his other pocket and found a compass. He immediately set out to find his way back.

Alex spent days traveling trying to get back. He was starving, could barley find water, and was pretty much lost. He kept going until he finally passed out in the middle of a trail a week in. A patrol of soldiers came by him when he first started to wake up. Alex saw them and rolled over and tried to run. A soldier immediately ran after and tackled him. Alex was picked up and stood up and right before a soldier killed him someone shouted stop. Their lieutenant walked up to Alex and noticed the uniform and the ranks. Alex then realized that the soldiers were from Maximilian's Army. They put Alex in the back of a carriage gave him food and water and brought him back to their fort.

Alex was given immediate medical attention and a place to rest. A message was sent out to his fort to notify his commander so they could send a team to retrieve Alex. They came a week later. By then Alex was healed for the most part. He had a of scars and was still in pain, but he was ready to fight again. The journey back took a week but Alex was greeted by the whole fort, who were all happy to see that he was still alive.

Alex reported to the commanding officer, but when he walked in he saw Velator standing there talking. Velator saw Alex and his eyes widened and he shut up.
