Tony and Steve left the vehicle. They were outside a cabin of sorts, with large, open windows and a lake behind it. Steve frowned but Tony smiled, took everything off the back of the truck and (with Steve's help) carried it over to the porch. He placed everything down on the floor, unlocked the door and pushed it open.

"After you," he said. Steve walked in and the lights instantly turned on. They weren't so bright that they were blinding but more of a subtle light, a kind of light that would get more intense the longer you were there so you didn't have to squint.

"Tony, I... wha- where are we?"

"This is where I come on my off days," he sighed. The ceilings were high but not so high that there was no chance of a second floor. "It's a place to relax, of sorts. I usually come to sort out my brain and have a chance to look through what I do and don't need in my head. The stuff I don't need is stored on a hard drive and kept here. JARVIS tries not to access it but if I need to then he can. It's my brain dump house, per say. No need to be to fancy about it." Tony, who'd dropped anything he'd bought inside in the corner just inside the door, relieved Steve of what he was carrying and emptied his hands onto the same pile.

"We might wanna sort that out."

"We can do it in the morning."

"We're gonna regret it," Steve laughed. Tony walked over to Steve and wrapped his arms around Cap's middle. The blond kissed the top of his head and leant his chin on his (much shorter than him) boyfriend. "Thank you for the best date in history, Stark," he said quietly.

"You didn't even understand the film and yet you're calling it a good date? Well, it can hardly be that good, I had 5 hours to plan something-"

"I don't care. I loved it." Tony let go and took a step back.

"Seriously?"

"Seriously."

"No, like... seriously seriously?"

"Yes, Tony. I'm not saying it though it's a tongue twister and it's gonna go way too far." Tony smiled to himself and looked down. Steve looked at the clock on the kitchen wall - it was only 10:40, they were usually in the living room talking to everyone about their day at this point, it was abnormal to have eaten by this time. Quite often at this point, Nat makes a start on chocolate-covered strawberries or some other confection to eat at 2 AM.

"Are we even in the city anymore?"

"No, couple miles out. You can still see everything, though. Come with," Tony said. He gently grabbed Steve's wrist and pulled him up a seemingly invisible set of stairs. The brunette pushed a wooden door open to reveal what Steve was guessing to be a master bedroom as well as Tony's room - there were a few familiar t-shirts in there - and gently pushed open another door. This one was glass and lead out to a balcony that faced the city.

"New York," muttered Tony. "The city that never sleeps." Steve let out a low whistle.

"It's beautiful, huh."

"Not as beautiful as your eyes." Tony said it so quietly he was sure Steve wouldn't hear him, but the taller instantly turned and faced the shorter and the brunette turned pink.

"I'm sorry?"

"I didn't say anything."

"I'm not deaf, Tones."

"...it doesn't matt-" And he was cut off by Steve kissing him. Gently, but in a way that took Tony by surprise. To be honest, it shocked them both.

"I beat you to it." Tony rolled his eyes playfully.

"Wow, Cap. Real mature."

"Well, I'm 95," he said, settling his hands on the railings and looking out onto the skyline. "Gotta make a move at some point, I am getting on a little."
