-- Stop -- I heard Zuko's voice command. The static sounds stopped, and I have never been so happy to see him when he approached us with a definitely angry expression. -- What is happening here?

My first impulse was to play the victim, but I knew that would be ridiculous, so I just shut up.

-- I found her! She's your mistress, isn't she?

-- And what evidence do you have to support your affirmation?

-- You are always with her! Even if she's not, she knows who your lover is. I'm not stupid, Zuko! -- she looked hysteric. I couldn't blame her, however. I wouldn't react well in her place, I guess.

-- Your jealousy has gotten over the limits! I've always been close to Zatochi, and you have never bothered! Is it some sort of female ego thing? You almost killed this poor girl who had done nothing wrong.

I should thank that it was not light enough for her see me blushing. Keeping something untold is something I can do easily, molding the truth was okay, but straight-up lying in front of the person I am indirectly hurting was more difficult to me.

-- You reject me! - she proceeded, on the verge of tears.

-- I don't! I have just been tired, that's all! -- it was shocking to see him straight-up lying to her. But what choice did we have?

-- Of course you've been tired, you disappear in the middle of the night! -- she was sobbing at this moment. Feeling a bit sick, I stood up and, without making a sound, I left, but I could still hear the conversation I didn't have stomach to keep following.

-- I have just been insomniac and walking around the Palace. Why don't you believe me? I would never do it to you!

Then, there was silence. I looked back out of curiosity and saw them kissing.

Gross.

I really didn't have to see that, so I went back to my quarters. And I locked the door.
