Lila Jane Duchannes P.O.V.

I sat on the roof of my Cousin Jezebel’s car next to Jezebel herself. She looked over at me at smiled. She looked cute wearing a fading rainbow halter top, blue and white short-shorts, a waterfall braid, sparkly makeup, and galaxy lace-up shoes with 2” heels.

All I wore was this flowy pink and black top, black shorts with little squares cut out of the bottom edges, little gray booties with bows on them, and a messy French braid.

“Hey,” she said. “I heard my dad drove this baby when he was our age. It’s like, ancient.” She patted the roof of the Beater.

“Enjoyin’ that roof? If I were ya’ll I’d be hoppin’ on a flyin’ broom instead.” Before I could reply, Samantha Snow and Emma Asher walked up, with smug smirks on their faces.

“Really? Make all the comments you want. The only real witches here are standing right in front of us,” Jezebel growled.

“Aw. C’mon Samantha. We’d better get outta here before that witch uses her magic powers ta freeze us or somethin’,” Emma spoke sarcastically.

“Emma, you know better than that! She may be a witch, but she doesn’t have any powers,” Samantha grinned.

Samantha and Emma walked of, snickering.

“I’ll show you powers,” Jezebel said under her breath.

“Don’t,” I said. “Save it for a time when you need it.”

“Lila Jane!” she complained. “You’re no fun.”

Just then, the bell rang, calling us into school.

Macon Wate P.O.V.

Mrs. English was droning on, but I had stopped listening. I was too busy making spit balls to toss at her later. Honestly, Mrs. English was so old; she was nothing but a sack of wrinkles.

I turned around and rolled my eyes at my twin, Lila Jane. She put a finger to her lips and motioned for me to turn around.

Whatever. She always had followed in our mom, Lena Duchannes’ footsteps. I tend to think I follow closer to my dad, Ethan Wate. Popular, hot, cool. Those were words that described me. Shy, nerd, freak. Those were words that described Lila Jane.

I ripped a piece of paper out of my notebook and wrote:

Goody Goody

I tossed the note onto L.J.’s desk.

I got a quick response:

Shut up

That was my sister.

A/N: Hey!! So, I'll put an explanation for this chapter up next! Sorry... I know this was short, but I'll work on making them longer. I wrote this two years ago, so I'm kinda figuring stuff out all over again and making changes. Thanks for understanding!!
