Prologue- The Murder

You groaned as your phone kept on ringing and buzzing on the counter. You dropped your toy and whittling knife and got up to see who it was. You picked up.
"Hey, (L/N) speaking," You mumbled rubbing your hand across your face.
"Hello? Is this (Y/N) (L/N)?" You heard a young boy's voice ask.
"Wouldn't be speaking to you if it weren't, who's this? You said bluntly.

"Oh! Um, this is Chio Harmada, from the police department, and I was calling you for"
"I'm going to stop you right there." You stopped him and sighed.
"Let me guess, Chief Kora is asking you to call me for something?" You asked twirling your empty cup as you leaned against the kitchen counter.
"Umm, yes?" He said a little surprised. Of course it was Kora.

"Well then I'm not interested, tell him what I said a long time ago was truth and I won't be doing any more cases!" You scowled bringing the phone away and was gonna hang up.
"No please ma'am! It's about a murder at a high school! An innocent Alpaca!" Your finger hovered over the end call button. You stared at your phone for a moment, the sun shining through the blinds as your eyes glistened.

You slowly brought the phone back to your ear.
"Tell Chief Kora at 4," You simply said before hanging up. Your heart beater fast as you stalked over to your table and with your toys, you started to whittle them. You stopped at it was now a small ladybug, pushing it and it started to crawl by itself. You took a deep breath and got up.

'In a world of Carnivores and Herbivores, it's a race against power. Who is truly the strongest, who's the most manipulative? To me, it's nothing but a sick joke from the ones who first declared who we are based on what we eat. Being a carnivore is one thing, being a herbivore is another. Being stuck in both can really cause pain in life.'

'But that never stopped me'

"Hello old friend, please have a seat," Kora smiled and motioned you a seat in front of his desk.
"Skip the pleasantries Kora, just tell me what you want," You bluntly said sitting down. He sighed and sat down at his desk.
"As you already know, there's been another murder case, and it was from the Cherryton Academy, the only school that allows Herbivores and Carnivores to learn together."

He grabbed some files and placed them on his desk.
"The police are looking into it, but so far, we only suspect it's a carnivore that's fine it, so we were wondering if you can-"
"No," You said standing up.
"(Y/N), please," You stared at the elephant and sighed, sitting back down.
