Another week went by and the one night stand with Gregorio had turned into several nights stand. She had emergencies on Saturday and Sunday and had been working the whole week. She was exhausted but Gregorio proved to be an excellent stress remover.
When she finished work, she was either at his place or he was at hers. She started to like his personality; he was goofy, funny and really clever. And he was really good at giving massages.

It was Friday night and she was plopped on his couch, waiting for him to start the movie. His apartment was really spacious and luxurious- he was an entrepreneur and business man. She learned that even if he was born from a wealthy family and had been spoiled his entire life, he was not a capricious brat.
They were on an Avengers movies night and they were debating who was the sexiest Chris between Evans and Hemsworth.
"You see, Captain America was ready to give up his life for his country", he argued.
He sat down next to her, wearing only a pair of navy pyjamas pants while flexing his abs.
"But Thor is Thor!" she stated.
He chuckled as he pulled her close to him.

He gazed down at her as she watched the movie.
"Thank you", he said.
She looked up at him, visibly puzzled.
"For what?"
"It has been the best week of my life. With you, I can be someone else. I never thought it would feel this good."
She was even more confused.
"What do you mean by being someone else?"
"My parents had a definite path for me in life. I had to be cold and ruthless to survive. I loved my lifestyle. But with you, I had found something different."
"Maybe you didn't like that lifestyle that much?"
He looked at her with sorrow.
"I wish that you were right. But sadly, no."
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"Don't go all psy on me", he chuckled.

She seemed to genuinely care about him.
"You can tell me. I am your friend. You can trust me."
He nodded his head and smiled.
"We talked more about me than you. Let's talk about you. I want to know you."
"What do you want to know? I had an ordinary life. I went to college and got married. Then I divorced. But you already know that", she shrugged.
"Don't you miss him? Your husband?"
She shook her head.
"I don't miss him", she admitted. "I never did. Even when he went on business trips for months."
"You did not love him?"
"Sadly, no. I've never said that to anyone. I was never in love with him. I just loved the idea of being in love. It's really pathetic."

He shook his head, wrapping an arm around her.
"I don't think so. He wasn't just the one. It happens to so many people, you know?"
"Were you ever in love?"
He stayed silent for a long moment and leaned his head against hers.
"Yes. I had been in love once."
"Tell me about it. What happened?"
"She was so beautiful. She lighted up the room wherever she went. I lover her with all my heart. But it wasn't meant to be. She felt in love with someone else."
"I'm sorry, Greg."
When she looked up at him again, his eyes were dark and full of fury.
"Don't be. She felt in love with my childhood friend. That bastard. He didn't even love her. He used her."
His eyes held so much hatred that it scared her. She scooped a little bit away from him.
"Why did he do that? You guys fought over a girl? "
"He hated me. He had always been jealous of me. He took everything away from me all the time. He made her believe that he loved her and at the end, he left her. He knew I loved her."

"The hate that you have for him, it's eating you from the inside. Maybe you should talk to them? Are you still in contact?"
"No. I cut ties with her. I don't hate her. I could never hate her. She was also a victim. But I could never forgive him. He is the worst of human kind."
He obviously was not ready to turn this page. Being betrayed by a friend was surely worst than a break up. Sofia felt grateful as she knew she could always count on her friends.
She hugged him and he seemed to snap out of his thoughts.
"Thanks for listening."
She smiled and turned off the TV.
"Let's go to sleep."
