Reader POV
Solid Silva said nothing rude. In fact, he stared at me with fascination.
"Is it true that you almost killed Onii-chan?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, it's true," Nebra laughed nervously. "She froze his body for a moment. If she hadn't used her magic to reverse it, he would've smashed to the ground- dead."
"I couldn't kill him even if I wanted to," I said. "I'm not like that."
Solid narrowed his eyes. "Nee-chan, can I speak to you? Alone?"
I got the message and got up to leave the room. "I'll step outside for a bit. I'm hungry anyway,"
"Don't get lost! But if you do, ask a maid for help!"
I shut the door behind me, leaving the two to talk.
I yelped in surprise when I saw Nozel standing outside with his arms crossed.
A shadow covered half his face, but his purple eyes seemed to glow in the darkness.
"Come with me." He turned around and headed down the huge spiral staircase.
I followed him in silence.
As we reached the first floor, Nozel turned and leads us into a room with the smell of food wafting from the insides. Two butlers opened the door and I was overcome by the amount of food on the table.
It was more food than I've ever seen in my life.
"I hope you are hungry," Nozel said as he took his seat at the head of the table.
I just stood there like an idiot, not knowing where to sit.
"Please, sit."
I sat in the seat closest to me, which just so happened to be the closest right to Nozel.
"My siblings will be joining us soon," Nozel explained. "For now, we can just talk or not."
I didn't even know which food I wanted to try first. It all looked appetizing.
Nozel began to take food off plates as a butler came in and poured some wine in his glass.
The butler was about to do the same for me, but I never drank wine before.
"I'm fine," I said.
"What would you like to drink, then?" Nozel asked flatly. "You are a guest here, despite our class differences."
"(flavor) tea would be nice,"
The butler nodded. "Decaf or caffine?"
"(choice). Thank you," I smiled sweetly at him.
Nozel noticed I was hesitant to take food. So, he told me to give him my plate.
"Why?"
He rolled his eyes. "I'm not going to let you starve, so you are going to eat."
As he was giving me food, the other two came into the dining room slowly.
"Noelle isn't here?" Solid asked. "Shame, I wanted to show her my new spell. After all, I did promise her after she may have saved us that I would get stronger than her."
I was about to eat when Nozel and his siblings put their hands out and held them.
Solid sat on the other side and Nebra was on my left.
"(y/n), take my hand," Nozel said. "We say Grace in this house."
"Since when-"
Nozel cut his brother off with a glare.
I hesitantly took his hand and he held it in the air as the other siblings did the same.
Grace was said and I started to eat.
Flavors filled my mouth in a beautiful explosion.
"Oh my god...this is so good!"
Nebra laughed politely. "Oh, she's not used to this food daily, is she?"
"You nobles eat like this every day?!" I stared at the three of them.
"Yes," Solid confirmed with a smirk. "And what do you eat every day? Bread and water?"
I noticed his sarcasm. "As a matter of fact, I do. Occasionally if I save enough money, I will splurge and get some tea and maybe some treats for my family."
"Oh? Tell me about your family."
I sighed. "Well, my mother died five years ago. My father raised my brothers and I. His name was William (l/n). My brothers were Ashio, Alex, and Anthony."
"Where are they now? Do they know you are here?"
"I wouldn't know if they knew," I said.
Nozel POV
I quietly listened to them chat.
"I wouldn't know if they knew," (y/n) was saying. "They died three nights ago."
I detected something in her voice.
Was it heartache? Was it weary acceptance?
"Oh. I'm so sorry," Solid cringed at the awkward.
(y/n) flashed him a reassuring smile. "Not to worry, Lord Solid."
"Actually, we lost our mother too," I said.
Both Nebra and Solid looked down. It was rare that we talked about Mother Acier's death.
Only I and a select few knew that Mother Acier died after giving birth to my youngest sister Noelle since my mother was cursed by a devil named Megicula.
"I'm so sorry," (y/n) looked at me with sympathy.
"It's fine, it was over 15 years ago," I got up from my chair. "I will be in my room if anyone needs anything."
With that said, I left the room.
I double-took it and stood outside the doors. One was open.
"(y/n), I don't know how you are doing it, but you are changing grumpy old Nozel," my sister was saying. "He never opens up this much to people."
"Maybe he likes her," Solid suggested.
(y/n) made a gagging sound. "Yeah, he would like to see me dead!"
The three laughed.
"Well, if Nozel is somewhat kind to you compared to others, then that means he trusts you in some way. So we will do the same," the two said in unison.
"Don't worry, if he goes on a rampage, we'll protect you," Solid joked.
I heard the (h/c)-haired female gasp dramatically. "What does he look like when he's on a rampage?!"
I didn't hear the rest. I walked upstairs in the dim candlelight.
As soon as I got to my room, I closed the door and leaned against it.
"Why the hell is my heart racing so much when I'm around that foreigner?"
