I finally completed my degree and was looking out for a job in an MNC. I always had this ambition of becoming a software engineer from high school and after 3 years of hard work, I was finally ready to work among the professionals. Learning all the tech stuff was interesting with my friends. Taking part in hackathons, quiz ,and other competitions, it was fun in college days. Days passed and we all finally got graduated and went on our different paths. I had already planned that I'd work after I graduate, so, I applied for a job in the company.

It was job interview day. I took out one of my favorite shirts from my cupboard and pressed it. After getting dressed up I finished my breakfast and wished my parents before leaving the house. I reached 1 hour before the scheduled time so that I can prepare myself if there was anything to prepare. The interviews began. I was nervous before going to the interview. There were around 50 people in the waiting hall, waiting for their turn, and finally, I got my turn. I calmed myself and went inside. I sat in front of them and kept quite before they spoke. They were seeing my resume and I was getting nervous whether I had made any mistakes in my resume or the format. Then the interviewer asked me to introduce myself. I gave a short and simple introduction of myself and waited for further questions. They were impressed with the projects which I had developed during my college days. The HR started to have a friendly conversation which I didn't expect to happen. I was able to sense some positive vibes from the interviewers. Finally, I finished my interview and shook hands with a smile before leaving the interview room.

Everyone was waiting in the room for the results with the hope of getting the job, only 10 out of 50 were supposed to be selected and the odds of getting selected were very less for me. An executive came outside the room and said that a message will be sent to all the selected candidates tomorrow. Everyone left and I came out and called my friend to meet up. I went to his house and had a chit chat and played table tennis for a while. Then we both headed out to have dinner in some restaurant. After dinner, we went for a walk having ice cream. Talking to a friend and sharing feelings with them was always the best therapy. We spoke so much that, we didn't realize it was getting late, so I dropped my friend to his house and returned home. My parents were excited to know how the interview went. After having a little chit chat with them about what happened today, I went back to my room and took a shower to cool down myself. After having a cup of green tea while watching the news, I went to bed.

The next morning, I went jogging as usual and returned home after 2 hours. While I was in the shower, I heard my phone ring. I came out fast and ran towards my phone to check whether it was the message sent by the company and I got selected. It was amazing news for my parents and they were really happy to hear it. I had to start working from next week and I had to make a lot of preparations. So, I called my friend and gave him the good news and decided to meet up. After we met, we went shopping to buy me some formal attires and other office stuff. While we were at it my friend posed a question.

"Dude, now that you have accomplished everything you wanted, what about your love life?"- Kabir

During my college days, I was always against relationships and was focusing on making my career, and I had a very good reason to tackle such questions. But now I'm finding it difficult to answer the question as I'm settled with my career. I said,

"I don't know, I didn't find anyone of my type"-Ayaan

"Ohh, come on you never even tried finding anyone. If there was something you were trying to find, it was books in the college library, nothing else"- Kabir

After we were done shopping, I came back home for lunch and spent some time with my mother. My mother is like all other typical Indian mothers who are always worried about their children's marriage. I told my mother that I won't take any step in that matter until I'm settled with my job. She smiled at me and said, "No problem I can wait, but not too long my son".

Finally, it was my first day at the job. I woke up early and got dressed up as usual. After finishing my breakfast, I had a 'Dad to son' talk with my father and he wished me good luck. I left home and reached my office on time. My first day went very well. I was finally satisfied with my hard work as I had turned my passion into my profession.

Days passed like anything and it was already 2 years since I had started working. My mom was furious about my marriage and I was equally not interested in that. I had to listen to her big lectures when I return home from work. It used to annoy me when she used to tell me about how others got married and settled in life.

"One of my cousin's son got married last week. Everyone is getting married and you are the only one who's yet to get married." - Mom

"Ohh come on mom, I'm not ready to take up responsibilities, and I don't want to take this step because you're forcing me to take it. It's a big decision and I want to take it when I feel like taking it. And besides, I'm happy being a bachelor." -Ayaan

"But I'm not, son we aren't going to stay with you the whole time, try to understand." -Mom

"Again with the emotional drama. Mom chill, I'll be fine, there are a lot of people who are single and still happy." -Ayaan

"I think he wants to be the next Salman Khan", my dad said in the middle of the conversation. My dad used to have fun when I had to sit and listen to my mom's lecture.

"Haha, very funny dad. Anyways I have to wake up early tomorrow, I have a flight to catch. I'm going to London for a meeting and it'll take 2 days for me to return. And mom, save the lecture for the next time please, I should get a good sleep. Good night" -Ayaan
