I called Kabir and Suhana and told them about Riya. The last rituals had to be performed and I called Rohit's parents from India immediately so that they can leave for New Jersey.

The next day was tough for me. The worst day of my life, and even worse for Ruhi as she had lost her mother. I saw Riya lying in the coffin, and memories started hitting my mind when I met her for the first time, our walk till the petrol bunk, getting wet in rain, I had to be strong. Ruhi's grandparents arrived and even they were sad about this untimely death. I held Ruhi's hand the whole time until the funeral ended. She didn't know what was going on as she was told that her mommy was going to heaven as God had called her. After the funeral was over, I went and talked with Ruhi's grandparents.

"I hope you're fine" -Ayaan

"First, we lost our son and now we lost Riya too" -Grandparents

"I know how it feels, she died in my arms, and before she died, she told I should take care of Ruhi" -Ayaan

"If that's what she said, then you can take care of her" -Grandparents

"I will" -Ayaan

Everyone went back as the funeral was done. I had to drop Mom and Dad to the airport. While we were on the way, mom said

"Ayaan, I'm happy that you're going to take care of Ruhi, but she's very small and she needs a mother. I know it would be hard for Ruhi to accept someone like her mother, but that's what has to be done" -Mom

"Hmm, I know. But for now, let it be this way" -Ayaan

"We'll be waiting for you. Try returning fast"-Mom

"Ok, I'll see you soon, bye" -Ayaan

"Bye"- Mom

After dropping my parents to the airport, I came back to the hotel where Ruhi's grandparents were about to leave.

"You both are leaving?" -Ayaan

"Yes, we are leaving. Take care of Ruhi son" -Grandparents

"Yes, I'll" -Ayaan

"We would've taken Ruhi with us but we are old now and she needs attention and caring from someone like you. She's the only memory that reminds us of Rohit and Riya. I hope you understand" -Grandparents

"Yes, I do" -Ayaan

"Hmm, you too take care of yourself. See you" -Grandparents

I was all broken from inside and felt weak, but I had to be strong for Ruhi.

"So, what are you going to do now Ayaan?" -Kabir

"I don't know, I think I'll wait for Ruhi to finish her kindergarten this year. It'll be done in a month" -Ayaan

"And then?" -Kabir

"I think I'll go back to India" -Ayaan

"But your parents are in Canada" -Kabir

"Yeah, I told them I'm going back to India. I want to return to my real place" -Ayaan

"Hmm, anyway, let's go in. Ruhi's waiting for you" -Kabir

"Yeah" -Ayaan
