"Lilith?"
"You got that right."
"What're you doing here at this time of night?"
"I could ask you the same thing, but I already smell the blood on you. There's no need for me to ask."
Trance took a step in front of me.
"I knew there was something off with you. A quarter demon is still a demon. But how come you didn't have yellow eyes when we first met?"
"Are all demons this stupid? I wore contacts, you idiot."
"Watch your-"
"What are you gonna do about it? Hmm? Kill me?"
Lilith is different from the last time we met. What happened to her? I didn't want to pry, but she wasn't here for a quick meet up to check up on me.
"Why are you here?"
"I'm here on orders to retrieve you two and bring you back to my boss. So now that that's out there, do you wanna do this the easy way or the hard way?"
"Who's your boss?"
"You'll find out if you come with me."
I looked up at Trance. He tightly clenched his jaw, deciding whether we should go or fight. Both of us were still worn out from the battle. And we didn't know how many back ups she had waiting for her signal. Trance sighed out heavily as he came to the most logical conclusion.
"Fine. We'll go. But..."
"But what?"
"But you have to promise not to harm Scarlet."
"As long as she doesn't hit me first, I promise I won't lay a single finger on her."
Trance glanced at me before grabbing my hand. It was the first time I thought that he was nervous. His palms were sweating. He took cautious steps as we followed Lilith into the dark night. Lilith led us into the alleyways that Trance warned me about. We passed scary people smoking next to trash cans. A small group of people were dealing some sort of drug. They glared at us with murderous eyes, probably thinking that we might rat on them. A feral dog scratched at it's ear and bit its foot after. I noticed that the other foot was entirely chewed off. I hate this place. I squeezed Trance's hand. He pulled me in front of him and offered the inside of his coat as protection. I scurried inside the open flap.
We continued to weave through the narrow spaces between sketchy buildings for another ten minutes. We arrived at what looked like an abandoned factory. Lilith turned around, holding the handle to the large door.
"Don't bother calling out for the Winchester brothers. They don't really exist."
She pushed open the door. Inside, there were pens of innumerable squealing pigs. Lilith picked up the whip lying by the entrance. A sharp crack silenced the pigs at once. We walked further into the massive building. I saw that a lot of the pigs had lashes ranging from fresh marks to aged scars. One pig was barely breathing as it laid on its side.
"Oop. I guess this one's next."
Lilith walked over to the pen and dragged the pig out. The other pigs ran to the corners, panicking and trembling. She tied the whip around two of the pig's feet and pulled it behind her. I gagged violently. This place smells awfully familiar.
Trance bent over slightly to whisper in my ear.
"Just hold on for a little more."
"I know this smell. It's the-"
Lilith stopped walking. We stopped too.
"We're here. And I advise you quit the chit chat. My boss doesn't like secrets."
There was another door leading further into the building. She dropped the heaving pig. Lilith knocked on the door using a pattern, and it opened. She stood to the side and gestured for us to go inside. Trance held me firmly inside his coat. We moved forward, Lilith followed, and the door slammed shut behind us.
A tall chair faced its back to us.
"Lilith, did you bring my guests?"
"Yes, boss. They're standing right here."
The person sitting in the chair stood up, revealing neon green hair. Trance took a step back. The boss walked around their chair. It was a woman wearing a black cape similar to one that a king would wear. She had pointed high heels and wore a black bikini. Her heels clacked on the hard ground as she approached us. The air around her was intense.
"How's it been going...Trance? I see you've got yourself a nice looking host."
"I'm fine. How are you, Adramelech?"
"I just recovered recently from the beating you gave me ten years ago. But I didn't call you here to catch up. I want a fair fight. One on one. How about it?"
"You want a fight after the ass whoopin' I gave you. I'm surprised you didn't die."
Adramelech held out her hand, said a few words under her breath, and created a fire ball in her palm.
"You should have the balls to defeat and kill me this time if you want the little girly to live."
A rope around my ankle pulled me out of Trance's grasp and dragged me away.
"SCARLET!"
"If you win, you get her back. You lose, I'll kill her in front of you while you're barely breathing. Deal?"
Lilith tied me with another rope. Adramelech held out her other hand to shake on it. Trance's head dropped. His hands balled into fists, blood dripping from his palms. He wiped the blood on his cheeks. A blast of energy started a wind tornado around Trance. Dust and debris were tossed into the air. Once it settled, Trance had nails that were at least half a foot long. His tail reappeared. His ears pointed. He was breathing heavily and growling, hunched over. A set of wings burst out of his back. Blood droplets splat onto the ground behind him. His eyes were completely red.
"I was hoping that you'd go all out for this one. Then I will too!"
A massive bonfire engulfed Adramelech as she cackled at the top of her lungs. Inside the fire, I could see her transformation into long nails, spikes sprouting behind her calves, entirely green eyes, and sharp fangs. Lilith warned me.
"This could get ugly."
