[Hey guys just a heads up, the rest of the story will be written from Taylor's perspective. There is a method to my madness, I promise!]
We stated at each other. I didn't expect the words to come out of my mouth until they actually were out there. Aden looked at me like I was insane.
"Dude, I know you like her and all, but is she really worth all of that money?" He asked, unbelievingly. I just nodded.
"Alright, let's go talk to the boss." Aden resigned, sighing. I don't think anyone liked this boss he was talking about. I have never heard a decent word said about the man.
We walked in the direction that Cathy had run off. I almost thought she would be apart of the conversation, but then thought better of it. They wouldn't want her knowing until it was actually done and over with.
I was led to what looked like an executive office.
"So you want to buy one of my girls no?" A greasy looking man said looking out a window.
"I do." I gulped, trying not to display my trepidation.
"Well she is going to cost a pretty penny.'' He sneered. I nodded.
"I'm aware. I just need to know how much so I can pay you." I said timidly.
"Five million, and that's me being nice. You don't look like you'll be able to afford it anyway, so I can set whatever price I want." He smirked, knowing he was right.
"Give me some time, I'll figure out a way to pay you. I want her." I said looking the man straight in the eye, surprising him.
"You have a year and a half to obtain your money. I'm being generous here. You'll have your girl, I'll have my money and everyone will be happy.''
"You have yourself a deal. Can I see her when I want?" I asked, knowing the answer was a no.
"Now that would be a little too generous would it not? The price to see her will not be included in that money. Understood?"
"I do.''
"Now run along and start making me money."
He laughed as I was escorted out.
I earned a good living but not that good. I would have to come up with some sort of game plan. This wasn't like college when I could apply to hundreds of scholarships, there were no such things for winning a woman. This whole scheme was messy and filled with the possibility of dirty money. He wouldn't care, but I wanted to do it honestly. I wanted to earn Catherine the right way.
I paced my hotel room for hours trying to come up with answers when my phone ran.
"Son is everything alright? You were supposed to he here several hours ago!" My mother whined over the phone. With all of this business I completely forgot about visiting my parents.
"Yes mom everything is alright. I just had an emergency I had to deal with. I'll be there in about ten minutes." I said, grabbing my keys and heading for the door. My life is so complicated at the moment.
